We were recently made aware that a post is circulating regarding AshPeak Fire Solutions, and we wanted to address it directly rather than engage in arguments on someone else’s page.
AshPeak has never intended to represent itself as holding a California CSLB contractor license, nor have we ever stated that we are contractors. The license number displayed by our business is our Madera County business license, and we are updating our wording anywhere necessary to make that distinction even clearer.
We also carry general liability insurance for our operations. We take questions regarding licensing, insurance and safety seriously and will always make an effort to ensure our services and advertising comply with applicable requirements.
The particular job being circulated was performed for less than $1,000 and involved helping a homeowner address an insurance correction requiring vegetation/tree limbs to be cleared away from the structure for fire-safety and defensible-space purposes. The homeowner was happy with the completed work, the correction was addressed, and no damage was caused to the homeowner’s property or roof.
I also want to clarify that I do subcontract work when necessary if a job requires something I cannot or should not complete entirely on my own. I have never claimed that I can do everything myself, nor have I ever claimed to know everything.
I’m 24 years old and a dad to four children, trying to make a living and build something that I can be proud to provide for my family through. Before starting AshPeak, I spent six years working in fire-related work, which is ultimately where my passion for fire prevention and defensible space came from. That experience does not mean I know everything, and I’ve never pretended that it does.
AshPeak is a newer local business. New businesses grow. They learn. They make mistakes, make changes and improve. If there is something we need to change, clarify or do differently, we are willing to listen, learn and correct it.
What we will not participate in is name-calling, personal attacks, assumptions presented as facts about our insurance or business, or unrelated accusations that have absolutely nothing to do with the work being discussed. Constructive criticism is one thing; attempting to tear down a person or a new business is another.
At the end of the day, I’m a young dad trying to build something for my children while doing work I genuinely care about. I don’t expect everyone to support me, but I will continue learning, improving and doing everything I can to build AshPeak the right way.
