St. Philip Artist's Guild The St. Philip Artists' Guild (SPAG) is comprised of 13 artists who share studio space within the Man Philip Church in Norwalk, CT.

Philip Artists' Guild (SPAG) is comprised of 13 artists who share studio space within the Manice Lockwood Mansion on the grounds of St. SPAG debuted on September 27, 2008, with an exhibit by the five original artists, Duvian Montoya, Dave Morico, Frank Chiappetta, Steve Bagnell and Ralph DiMarco. Since then membership has increased to include the following roster: Dave Morico, Ralph DiMarco, Donna

Davie, Tony Mobilia, Dollka Morico, Amy Bilden, Melissa Chieffalo, Dick Ramsey, Michael Spero, Sherry Becker, and Bruce Horan. Since moving out of state, Frank Chiappetta and Steve Bagnell continue to be involved as Associate Members. All available studios are currently occupied. There is a waiting list for interested future members. Please email [email protected] for more information. The artist-members share a desire to explore and hone their artistic skills and vision through independent projects, collaborative shows and community service projects. SPAG artists collaborate with local galleries and artists in presenting a number of exhibits and events. They have partnered with the St. Philip Youth Group in creating a 30-Hour Famine mural, intended to call attention to the hunger-related diseases in many countries around the world. And they actively participate in the Arts and Environment Committee at St. Philip Church, a group that underscores the Church's various liturgical seasons and events though artistic installations. In Addition, an important task of SPAG members is the renovation of the Manice Lockwood Mansion. Each artist has converted one of the upper level rooms within the mansion to his or her studio space. Work has also been completed throughout the rest of the mansion in order to create a gallery-like setting for displaying artwork. SPAG is proud to have been recognized by the Norwalk Preservation Trust in May 2009 with an award for work it has done in recapturing some of the mansion's former splendor. SPAG continues to build on its current success by planning a variety of exhibits and activities, please visit this site often to get the latest information about SPAG happenings.
