This is one of the river stones we found just a few weeks ago while exploring a new area in the foothills of the North Cascades. It looks like black in white, but it also has the most beautiful pine tree green coloring mixed in too. Have you thought about giving yourself the gift of just sitting in your backyard, watching the birds and letting go of everything else? It’s transformative, just simply enjoying nature and nothing else.

This Pennsylvania Bluestone flagstone pathway and completely re-doing our front yard was one of our big projects later in the summer and early fall. We already had a few of the larger trees and shrubs in place, and the fountain installed, but the rest was just dirt and weeds. We added lots of good topsoil from a supplier in Oak Harbor, I got the plants planted with still a few more to add and the drip lines installed. I also planted a gazillion daffodils and allium bulbs that will be spectacular in the spring. There’s a bit left to finish, but I am so happy we got this much completed before the rainy season. Did you have any big projects in your garden this year?

We had a small flock of golden crowned kinglets bathing in the fountain. Here’s one of them splashing around. I love these cute little birds coming through and hanging out this time of year!

This Quartzite stone centerpiece bowl will also be part of our new release tomorrow morning at 9 am PST. This sculpture is named ‘Golden Hour’ after the way the light is so beautiful just before dusk. The golden color of this stone is highly unique for our area, where we find more earthy toned rocks. This bowl is going to look amazing on a kitchen island, coffee table or dining table . Can’t wait to see who gets it!!!

Here’s a preview of all six bird baths together so you can see the sizes and colors compared to one another. What is the perfect spot in your garden to add a bird bath? You can also elevate these on a table, tree stump or another flat topped boulder. Or leave it in the ground tucked into the landscape. Either way, the birds will love it and so will you! Another day this week spent enjoying this beautiful October and looking for a few more rocks. We just installed this fountain so that it is positioned where you see it coming up the front walkway and from the entire living room and kitchen area. They will able to open the nearby window and have the soft sound of water bubbling permeate the main floor space. What can be better than that?! The birds wildlife that finds the fountain will also be an added joy. Every garden needs a fountain!

This is the last of the bird baths we are introducing at our release on Monday. It’s a larger one that will attract birds of all sizes. When we saw this one, it was covered in mud and we had no idea this is what the inside would look like. It’s always a nice surprise! Give the gift of endless wildlife coming to your garden to yourself or to someone special in your life. It will bring endless enjoyment!

This pretty conglomerate stone bird bath will be included in Mondays release. I love how the jet black stone contrasts with the lighter pebbles embedded within. This release will have a combination of smaller, medium and one larger sized bird bath. Something for everyone. This is a pretty gray and white swirled Gneiss bird bath that will be part of our release next Monday. It looks beautiful tucked in next to ornamental grasses, like this All Gold Hakonechloa grass. Grasses and perennials also give the birds a place to have cover close by. Which one is your favorite so far? There’s still two more to share with you this week. They are all so unique!
