We got started on a home in OKC today and quickly found out why this roof was already failing…

The previous contractor cut corners. Instead of tearing it all the way down to the decking (the proper way), they left the old felt in place and just laid synthetic over the top of it.

That shortcut hides problems… and sure enough, underneath it all was non code-compliant decking that should’ve been addressed from the start.

This is exactly why full tear-offs matter. You can’t fix what you can’t see.

We’re doing it the right way — taking it all the way down, installing code-compliant solid sheathing, and rebuilding this system the way it should’ve been done the first time.

If your roof was done “cheap,” there’s a good chance it wasn’t done right.

We showed up this morning and tore this roof down to the decking—only to find non-code compliant spaced slat decking underneath.

Got it documented and pushed through, and insurance approved a full redeck.

From there, we rebuilt it the right way:
✔️ Brand new solid decking
✔️ Black Class 3 impact-resistant shingle system
✔️ Brought up to current code and built to last

We’ll be in OKC again tomorrow doing another full insurance-approved redeck and re-roof.

If your roof hasn’t been checked after these storms, there’s a good chance you’ve got damage you can’t see from the ground.

We are currently working in Choctaw, Oklahoma, on a decking and roof replacement project, which is being fully covered by the insurance carrier. The goal of this project is to restore the home to a condition that meets or exceeds the pre-storm standards and complies with the current building codes.

This Oklahoma wind laid this fence completely over…

Not leaning. Not loose.
Flat on the ground.

So we tore it out and rebuilt it the way it should’ve been done the first time:

• Swapped every wood post for steel posts set in concrete
• Installed cedar screw-together panels
• Built it to actually handle Oklahoma weather 💨

This isn’t a quick patch job — this is a fence that’s going to hold up when the next storm rolls through.

Oklahoma winds took this fence out — so we rebuilt it the right way.

The existing fence had failing 4x4 wood posts, leaning sections, and no long-term stability left. Instead of patching it, we replaced it with a system built to last:

• Removed all damaged materials
• Installed steel posts set deep in concrete for long-term strength
• Built custom cedar fence panels for a clean, durable finish
• Added a new gate tied into the edge of the concrete patio for proper access and usability

This isn’t a temporary fix — it’s a structural upgrade designed to hold up against Oklahoma weather for years to come.

We’re seeing shingles lifted, creased, and blown off roofs all across the metro today from the high winds.

The photos below were taken today in local neighborhoods — and many homeowners have no idea their roof is compromised because the damage isn’t visible from the ground.

Wind damage can cause:
