Born of the Land. Built for Generations.

Some homes are built upon the landscape. Others feel as though they have emerged from it.

Inspired by the rugged beauty of Connecticut’s ancient ledge, this extraordinary residence is a celebration of raw materials, contemporary architecture, and enduring family legacy.

Christopher Arelt, Principal of Nautilus Architects, brings his distinctive expertise in stone-and-wood architecture to a design that balances the permanence of natural stone with the warmth of wood and the transparency of glass.

His thoughtful approach transforms these elemental materials into architecture that feels simultaneously monumental and intimate, modern yet timeless.

Designed for multigenerational living, this home is more than a residence. It is a gathering place, a connection to the land, and a legacy to be passed from one generation to the next.

Rooted in stone. Warmed by wood. Designed for generations.

Autumn light. Timeless architecture.

As the seasons change, great architecture reveals its connection to the landscape.

Warm cedar shingles, expansive glass, and clean contemporary lines come together in this waterfront residence, where nature and design exist in perfect harmony.

At Nautilus Architects, we believe exceptional homes should not simply occupy a beautiful setting — they should become part of it.
