Before & After (2 weeks apart) 🌿

This lawn was getting destroyed by chinch bugs — very common in Florida summers. We treated it with zero chemicals and a fully organic approach.

We’ll keep tracking the progress as it continues to recover.

One of the things we love most about organic lawn care is that it often opens the door to even better landscaping solutions.

These homeowners originally asked us about installing sod in their shady backyard. After evaluating the site, we knew there was a better option. Instead of fighting the shade and tree roots, we partnered with our sister company, Edible Earth Scapes, to create a thriving tropical food forest designed specifically for the space.

You can also see the results of our organic lawn care at the entrance to the backyard—the healthier, greener lawn is the foundation for everything else.

Healthy soil. Healthy plants. Better long-term solutions.

If you’re tired of struggling with grass that just won’t thrive, we’d be happy to help you find an option that works with nature instead of against it.

🌱 Organic Lawn Transformation: Winter → Spring → Summer (So Far!)

Hey Central Florida friends! 🌴

Check out these photos of this lawn getting noticeably healthier through our organic program. From drab winter recovery to vibrant spring/summer growth — all without harsh chemicals.

The progress so far:
• Winter to Spring: Pre-emergent treatment to knock back w**ds early + soil conditioning.
• Spring to Summer: Targeted nitrogen feeding for that strong green-up and thick growth you see in the pics.

Next up this summer: We’re switching to our powerful bio mix — EM1, HELP, humic acid, and potassium — with a nitrogen blackout. We’ll use EM1 to break down those lawn clippings into free natural fertilizer, helping the soil absorb more nutrients, cut runoff, and grow even thicker, tougher leaves that handle the Florida heat like a champ.

Want to see what happens next? Let’s make it happen for your yard!

Front garden bed rehab completed!

We removed a dead palm and several overgrown shrubs, then replaced them with a beautiful combination of Crape Myrtle, Agapanthus, Loropetalum, and Liriope.

We offer both landscape design and installation services, but in this case the homeowner had their own vision, and we were happy to help bring it to life.

As a bonus, we discovered a baby bunny during the project and made sure it stayed safe throughout the entire process.

We’re excited to watch this garden bed fill in and mature over the coming seasons!

🌿 Garden Bed Update 🌿

Back in March, we refreshed this garden bed with a simple goal in mind: create a space where the homeowner’s daughter could scatter wildflower seeds and enjoy watching butterflies, bees, and other beneficial insects throughout the season.

From spring till now, it’s amazing to see that vision come to life. 🦋🐝

What started as a freshly mulched bed has transformed into a thriving wildflower patch filled with color, pollinators, and biodiversity. The wildflowers have established beautifully, providing nectar for butterflies and bees while adding a natural, ever-changing display around the holly trees.

One of my favorite parts of landscaping is seeing projects evolve over time. The day we finish a project is often just the beginning—the real magic happens as plants mature and nature takes over.

This is a great example of how even a small area can become valuable habitat while creating meaningful outdoor experiences for a family.

Before & After: Dry Creek Bed Installation 🌿

What started as a simple patch of turf and scattered stone was transformed into a functional and eye-catching landscape feature. This custom dry creek bed uses a spilled-pot design to create the illusion of a flowing stream, adding movement, texture, and visual interest to the front yard.

The installation features native, pollinator-friendly plants selected to provide color and blooms throughout much of the year while supporting butterflies, bees, and other beneficial wildlife. Once established, the landscape will be drought-tolerant and require minimal maintenance.

Beyond aesthetics, the dry creek bed is designed to help manage drainage and erosion, suppress w**ds naturally, and create a cohesive, natural appearance that complements the property.

A perfect example of combining beauty, function, and sustainability into one landscape design.

🌱A healthy lawn isn’t built overnight — it’s built season by season, much like a healthy body.💪🏼

This is a lawn we’ve been treating 100% organically all season. It’s getting thicker, greener, and healthier with every application. But it doesn’t have that instant, over-the-top dark green “golf course” look you get from heavy synthetic fertilizer programs that can pump a lawn up almost overnight.

And honestly… that’s the point.

Traditional synthetic programs are kind of like steroids for grass. You get explosive growth and crazy color fast, but underneath it can come at a cost:
• Shallow root systems
• Reduced soil biology
• More stress and disease issues
• Nitrogen runoff into Florida waterways
• A lawn that becomes dependent on constant feeding

Organic fertilizer is the natural, sustainable grind.

Instead of force-feeding the lawn, we work with the soil microbiome. Beneficial microbes slowly break down nutrients and make nitrogen more bioavailable to the roots naturally. The grass absorbs what it actually needs, which means far less runoff and waste.

Results take longer — sometimes weeks or a full season for that thick lush look — but you’re building real resilience:
• Deeper roots
• Living soil
• Better drought and heat tolerance
• A lawn that gets stronger year after year instead of weaker

Just like natural bodybuilding: slower visible progress, but healthier systems, stronger foundations, and long-term sustainability instead of temporary pumps.

Florida reminder: This is the LAST month for nitrogen applications before the summer blackout period (June–September). Get your final organic nitrogen push in while the grass is actively growing.

Once summer heat hits, switch to:
• Iron for rich green color without excessive growth
• EM1/microbial inoculants to keep soil biology thriving through the heat
• Repairing stressed or thin patches
• Monitoring and treating bug pressure naturally before it spreads

Here’s a recent lawn transition I’ve been working on — from stressed and thin to thickening up the organic way 👇

The product I just used for the third application is O.M. Scott & Sons Natural Grass Food. The first two applications included an organic pre-emergent, and this latest round focuses on feeding the lawn and strengthening the soil biology naturally.

What I like about it:• Feather meal & blood meal for natural nitrogen• Potassium sulfate for root strength and stress tolerance• Molasses to help feed beneficial soil microbes• Wheat flour to help improve soil health naturally (Expecting to see even bigger improvement now)

No added artificial ingredients or pesticides, and it’s immediately safe for kids and pets once applied. That’s a huge difference compared to a lot of traditional programs that require dry times or chemical precautions.

Your lawn (and your body) deserve the same respect.

If you’re tired of the quick-fix cycle and want results that actually last, organic might be the move.

Who’s choosing the long game over fake pumps? 👇

Before & After transformation 🌿
We redesigned and rehabbed this front entrance and backyard using native plants to attract monarch butterflies and support local pollinators. Finished it off with birds of paradise cleanup and fresh plant installs to bring everything back to life.
