We’re on the home stretch of this project. This morning we wrapped up the landscaping (pictures to come later) and moved right onto the next task, the lawn.

To start, we prepped the lawn with a soil conditioner to break up compaction and level uneven areas. After that we drug the area to remove debris and create a seed bed.

Over the next few days we will seed and fertilize approximately 70,000 square feet and cover it with straw erosion mat to establish the lawn.

We do them all!

Here’s a project we completed last week. Cleaned up some overgrown rock beds and topdressed with new river rock. Also removed some old rotten landscape timbers and replaced them with new ones to keep the rock out of the lawn.

We also added some topsoil along the edge of the driveway, seeded it, and rolled out some erosion mat at this same property a few weeks ago.

We’re working on a brand new house now and have a few other projects to do before the season ends.

Over the past few years this homeowner has battled erosion on this hill side during heavy rains, so they called and asked us to come look at this issue and see what could be done to solve their problem.

During this visit they mentioned that they don’t use the steps and were open to any ideas to prevent future erosion issues.

A couple of different ideas were offered during that visit and it was determined that sod was the route they wanted to go.

During this project we removed the existing steps, boulders, plants, and mulch. The boulders and plants were then relocated to another area on their property. Once that was done, topsoil was brought in and the hillside was regraded. To help with the future rains, 2 surface drains were installed at the top of the hill and drain pipe was trenched in and ran to the bottom of the hill. After that, new bullet edgers and mulch were installed and then the hill was sodded.

Started our next big project today.

Over the next few weeks we’ll build 3 boulder walls, install over 300’ of edging, spread 20+ yards of rock, plant shrubs and perennials, then install the lawn.

August was a busy month! We completed a bunch of 1 and 2 day smaller jobs and then spent about 9 days on this big retaining wall job south of Eau Claire.

This customer called earlier this summer and said they had purchased a bunch of used guard rail posts and wondered if we’d be interested in building a wall with them. After looking at it, we decided to take on this project.

We cut back the hill, built the 120’ long wall, then regraded and seeded around the finished wall, and gave the homeowner more useable space than they had before.

Another project completed yesterday in Eau Claire.

This customer had 2 retaining walls that were built with railroad ties and starting to rot. We tore them out and replaced them with new block walls.
