Why Paver Power Washing Matters:
Over time, pavers accumulate layers of dirt and black organic growth, that dull their appearance. Regular cleaning not only restores the appearance of your pavers, it also helps prevent slipping hazards. After cleaning, your pavers will look like new. The nice thing about our cleaning process is that it lasts four to five times longer than traditional power washing, so your paver will stay clean for longer.

What is the safest and most effective way to clean my pavers? - A lot of local paver power washing companies use a handheld wand to power wash pavers and they blast the pavers with high pressure inch by inch. This process subjects the pavers to a lot of unnecessary wear and can shorten the life expectancy of the pavers. The safest way to power wash pavers is to use a rotary surface cleaner. The rotary surface cleaner has two power washing heads on the inside that spin around at over 1000 RPM, this evenly power washes the pavers and drastically reduces the amount of pressure needed to do so. After we power wash the pavers using the rotary surface cleaner, I post treat the pavers with a soap solution that kills the organism that makes the pavers look black and dirty. This soap solution brightens the pavers, lifts the organic staining out of the pavers, and makes the pavers look like new. It also makes the paver cleaning job last four to six times longer than traditional paver pressure washing, because you are killing the organism that makes the pavers look black and dirty.
Do I need to re-sand my pavers after power washing them? - Cleaning the pavers using our process does not require re-sanding for most of our customers. The only time the pavers need to be re-sanded is if they have large gaps between the pavers or if the pavers have big gaps between them from shifted over time. The proper way to address this issue is to clean the pavers, have a paver company or landscaper repair the shifted pavers, and re-sand the pavers after the repair. If the pavers do need to be re-sanded, I recommend using your landscape to re-sand them.
How long does the paver cleaning job last? - There are three ways people clean pavers in our industry, pressure washing, soft washing, and doing both services. Pressure washing pavers typically lasts 3-4 months and needs to be redone every season. Soft washing pavers normally lasts for about a year and it improves the appearance of the pavers by 70-80%. Combining both paver cleaning processes works best, because you are pressure washing the dirt and organic material off of the pavers and applying a soap solution to kill the organism that caused the pavers to look black and dirty. It normally takes two to three years for the organic staining to start coming back using this paver cleaning process. If you have pavers that get sun all day long, it might take four to five years for the organic growth to come back.
Is the way you power wash pavers safe for my plants? - One of the benefits of using Aqua Clean Power Washing LLS to clean your pavers is that I do all of my own work. I have had employees in the past and I had a ton of problems getting them to follow our company policies and procedures, especially our plant protection procedures. Our plant protection process involves rinsing the plants with a lot of water, neutralizing soaps when needed, and treating the plants with a Miracle-Gro type of product at the end of the job. There's always a risk of damaging plants, but this process and the fact that I have been in the power washing industry since 2011, drastically reduces the chance of having any issues.
