❄️ Another mini-split back in action! 🔧

Yesterday I was called out to a mini-split that had lost its cooling performance. After troubleshooting, a refrigerant leak was discovered and repaired.

Once the leak was taken care of, the system was properly recharged and brought back to the correct operating condition. 💪❄️

This is a good reminder that if your mini-split isn’t cooling like it normally does, adding refrigerant isn’t always the answer. Finding and repairing the leak first is important so you aren’t just putting refrigerant back into a system that’s going to lose it again.

If your mini-split is:
🥵 Not keeping up
❄️ Blowing warmer than normal
🔧 Losing cooling performance
💧 Having unusual issues

Give Aerotemp Heating & Cooling a call. I’d be happy to take a look and get your system back to doing what it’s supposed to do.

☀️🔥 5 DAYS. 100°+. Is your A/C ready?

We’re looking at a rough week of heat, with temperatures expected to climb above 100° Monday through Friday.

This is the kind of weather that puts your A/C to the test. If your system has been struggling lately, now is the time to address it—not when it quits on the hottest afternoon of the week.

Before the heat really sets in, take a minute to:

🧼 Check your air filter — a dirty filter can restrict airflow.
🌿 Clear debris and vegetation from around your outdoor unit.
❄️ Make sure your vents aren’t blocked.
🌡️ Pay attention to how your system is performing. If it’s already struggling to maintain temperature, don’t ignore it.

And if your A/C isn’t keeping up, is blowing warm air, freezing up, making unusual noises, or quits altogether, give me a call.

💡 HVAC Tip of the Day

Give your outdoor A/C unit some room to breathe!

Your condenser needs plenty of airflow to cool your home efficiently.

Take a quick walk outside and make sure:
🌿 Grass isn’t growing up around it.
🌳 Bushes are trimmed back at least 2 feet.
🍂 Leaves and debris aren’t blocking the sides.
📦 Nothing is stacked against the unit.

It only takes a few minutes and can help your system run more efficiently during the hottest part of the summer.

📞 If your A/C still isn’t keeping up, Aerotemp Heating & Cooling is here to help.

🚨 Your A/C usually gives you a warning before it quits… are you noticing the signs?

Most air conditioners don’t just stop working out of nowhere. They often give small warning signs first.

Keep an eye out for:
❄️ Your home isn’t cooling as well as it used to.
❄️ Warm air coming from your vents.
❄️ Unusual noises like buzzing, squealing, or rattling.
❄️ Weak airflow from your vents.
❄️ Higher-than-normal electric bills.
❄️ Your system is constantly running but never seems to catch up.

Catching these issues early can often prevent a bigger, more expensive repair down the road.

If you’ve noticed any of these signs, don’t wait until your A/C quits completely—especially with these hot Kansas temperatures.

📞 Call or text Aerotemp Heating & Cooling at 620-778-8710. I’d be happy to diagnose the problem and get your home comfortable again.

🤔 Myth or Fact?

“If I set my thermostat to 65°, my house will cool down faster.”

❌ MYTH!

Your air conditioner cools at the same rate whether you set it to 75° or 65°. Turning the thermostat way down doesn’t make the A/C blow colder—it just tells the system to run longer.

On days like today, with an Extreme Heat Warning and a heat index expected to reach 111°, your A/C may already be running almost continuously to keep up. Constantly lowering the thermostat can make it run even longer without cooling your home any faster.

💡 A better tip: Pick a comfortable temperature and let your system do its job. Keeping your blinds closed during the hottest part of the day and making sure your air filter is clean can also help your A/C perform at its best.

If your system is:
❄️ Blowing warm air
❄️ Not keeping your home comfortable
❄️ Making unusual noises
❄️ Or has stopped working altogether…

🤔 Did you know your thermostat placement can affect how comfortable your home feels?

Your thermostat is the “brain” of your heating and cooling system. If it’s located near a window, in direct sunlight, or close to the kitchen, it can get false temperature readings and cause your A/C to run more—or less—than it should.

A few quick tips:
✅ Keep lamps and other heat-producing electronics away from your thermostat.
✅ Keep interior doors open when possible to help air circulate evenly.
✅ Make sure your vents aren’t blocked by furniture or rugs.
✅ Change your air filter regularly to keep airflow at its best.

Sometimes, though, if your A/C still can’t keep up, the issue is with the system itself—not the thermostat.

If your home isn’t staying comfortable, your A/C is running constantly, or you’d just like the peace of mind of a maintenance check, I’d be happy to help.

👀 Can you spot the difference?

This customer called because their A/C was struggling to keep the house cool during this extreme heat. After taking a look, the problem was easy to spot—the outdoor condenser coil was completely caked with dirt and debris.

A dirty condenser coil can’t release heat efficiently, which means your system has to work much harder to cool your home. That can lead to:
❌ Reduced cooling performance
❌ Higher energy bills
❌ Increased wear and tear on your system
❌ A greater chance of a breakdown when you need it most

To get this system back in shape, I:
✅ Applied a professional foam coil cleaner
✅ Thoroughly cleaned and rinsed the condenser coil
✅ Removed the built-up dirt and debris that was restricting airflow

The result? A cleaner, more efficient system that’s better equipped to handle this summer heat. ❄️

Regular maintenance like this can go a long way toward improving performance and helping extend the life of your air conditioner.

If your A/C is struggling to keep up, your electric bill seems higher than normal, or it’s simply been a while since your last tune-up, I’d be happy to help.

⚠️ Heat Advisory in Effect for Southeast Kansas! 🥵☀️

With dangerous heat settling into our area, your air conditioner is going to be working harder than it has all summer. During extreme temperatures, it’s completely normal for your A/C to run longer than usual, and some systems may even struggle to keep your home at the thermostat setting.

Here are a few tips to help your A/C during the heat:

✅ Keep blinds and curtains closed during the hottest part of the day.
✅ Avoid constantly adjusting your thermostat—pick a temperature and let your system do its job.
✅ Replace or check your air filter if it’s dirty to help maintain proper airflow.
✅ Keep the outdoor unit free of grass clippings, weeds, and debris so it can breathe properly.

If your A/C is blowing warm air, making unusual noises, freezing up, or has stopped working altogether, don’t wait—small issues can quickly become bigger problems in this kind of heat.

🤔 When was the last time you checked your air filter?

It might seem like a small thing, but a dirty air filter can make a big difference in how well your A/C performs.

A clogged filter can:
❌ Restrict airflow
❌ Make your system work harder
❌ Increase your energy bill
❌ Reduce cooling performance
❌ Lead to unnecessary wear and tear on your equipment

During these hot Kansas summers, I recommend checking your filter about once a month and replacing it whenever it becomes dirty. It’s one of the easiest and most affordable ways to help keep your A/C running efficiently.

If your system still isn’t keeping up with the heat, or you’d like to schedule a maintenance or repair, I’d be happy to help.

👇 Now I’m curious… how often do YOU change your air filter?

🔴 Only when I remember 😅

🥵 Think your A/C is running too much?

With temperatures in the upper 90s and triple digits, it’s actually normal for your air conditioner to run longer than usual. In extreme heat, many systems are designed to maintain about a 20° difference between the indoor and outdoor temperatures.

For example:
🌡️ If it’s 100°F outside, keeping your home around 78-80°F can be completely normal.

However, if your A/C is:
❌ Blowing warm air
❌ Constantly running but your home keeps getting hotter
❌ Freezing up
❌ Making unusual noises

…it may be time to have it checked before a small issue becomes a costly repair.

If you’re having trouble staying cool, Aerotemp Heating & Cooling is here to help!
