Similar to any industry, if you’re not a professional, you’re going to start at the wrong place.

When designing a space at Husky, we focus on how it functions in real life.

That is the core of our Client Advocacy.

It’s also a core of our approach, Conscious Construction.

We recently took on a project where the client wanted a larger closet and a double sink vanity.

Simple request, right? Not so fast.

Our process ensures we eliminate risk and deliver on that vision by:

1. We first clear out the existing clutter to see the true foundation and potential of the space.
2. We refuse to be stuck in 2D. We use placeholders to ensure proper scaling and size. If you only look at a flat floor plan, you'll never see how a double vanity actually fits or how elements work together.
3. We create a full presentation for clients, including key notes, construction plans, and visuals. This ensures the client moves beyond confusion and gets a better understanding of what the space is going to look like and how it will work.

This phase is all about knowing what's possible and creating a clear roadmap.

We bridge the gap between design aspiration and practical ex*****on, protecting you from costly mistakes down the line.

When we approach your home, we understand that you're not just thinking about one piece of furniture; you need to see the bigger picture.

As your Client Advocate, our job is to bring absolute clarity to your vision *before* any construction begins. We refuse to let you make decisions in a vacuum.

This means meticulously designing the unseen details:

- Lighting Placement: We ensure that in your open concept home, there are no shadows. We plan the placement of every switch so you have key access the moment you walk through the door.
- Refining the Mood Board: We take the aesthetic concepts (cabinet color, door style) and immediately pull in the technical specs of the appliances and equipment. This ensures that the design is always grounded in reality and functionality.

It's truly important that you get the big image of what your space is going to look like and how it will function.

At Husky, we bridge the gap between design aspiration and practical ex*****on, protecting you from costly mistakes down the line.

That’s one of the ways We’re Built Different

True design mastery starts with what feels right and ends with what looks good.

If you start with looks, you’re going to have a tough time.

When we approach design at Husky, we act as the ultimate Client Advocate by ensuring the space benefits the human body.

We learned this by experiencing poor design firsthand: high ceilings and harsh lighting in wellness spaces left us feeling affected, not relaxed.

This led us to focus on an environment that needs to soothe, not shock.

Our Conscious Construction approach eliminates these poor experiences:

- Controlling the Environment: We lower ceilings intentionally so heat rises and stays at a lower level, creating an environment that softens you, while keeping the heat in.
- Intentional Lighting: We use flexible systems to create an ambiance that lets your body "truly relax and unwind". Lighting is never an afterthought.

We design spaces that soothe the body and let you let go of every day's frustrations.

This is the difference between a functional room and a space designed brilliantly for human well-being.

That’s the difference Husky makes because at Husky,

We’re Built Different.

Why do most projects get derailed? Lies.

Because the foundation they are building on is a lie.

The foundation of every successful project is the Existing Conditions survey.

If you don't document every detail, your perfect design will not "execute flawlessly in real life".

A single missed dimension or an inaccurate wall measurement turns a beautiful blueprint into a costly nightmare the moment construction starts.

At Husky, we eliminate this risk with surgical precision:

- 3D Verification: We look at the space in 3D, constantly checking images and survey dimensions to ensure the design matches the actuality of the existing building.
- Safe Checks: We pull dimensions off to the side as a crucial "safe check" during the design phase to make sure no walls are accidentally moved or misaligned.

This intense, detailed design work happens *before* construction begins.

It is the key element that protects your budget and guarantees that your final project meets your vision, not your breaking point.

Don't let your investment be built on lies!

Start with certainty.

Start with Husky.

Is your wellness environment being designed by a true master?

You’ll know the truth, when the pressure is off.

Most wellness rooms fail the moment you step out of the sauna and onto a cold tile floor.

When creating a wellness space, we act as the Client Advocate to ensure every detail supports your ultimate goal: relaxation.

On this latest project, we analyzed the flow and function, right down to the inches:

- The sauna takes up most of the space. We anchored it to the back wall so it doesn't overwhelm you the moment you walk in, allowing you to move with ease.
- The cold plunge is set directly across from the sauna, allowing effortless transfer between hot and cold elements.
- We installed heated flooring underneath the marble. It's subtle, but it prevents that jarring shock when transitioning from the sauna or cold plunge, soothing your body instead of surprising it.

This is the power of intentional design.

From choosing natural marble for its grounding properties to installing flexible, low-level lighting, we ensure the space works for you.

We don't build rooms; we design experiences.

You just found the perfect location for your new commercial venture.

Now comes the critical risk: Do you trust your existing, flawed plans, or do you invest in certainty?

The difference could cost you WAY more than you think…

We recently saw a restaurant owner try to avoid the upfront cost of fixing their architectural drawings.

Instead of spending 8 weeks to correct the faulty drawings and then 3 months for the build (a total of 5 months), they gambled on a cheap contractor.

They spent over a year paying rent on two locations with zero revenue coming in from the new space. They thought they were saving money by choosing the cheaper route, but they ended up losing far more than they could have imagined.

This is the fundamental difference in risk management.

At Husky Design & Build, our initial investment is higher because it buys you certainty. We eliminate the risk of catastrophic delays and financial loss by ensuring your drawings are perfect and your budget is accurate before the first hammer swings.

Don't let flawed blueprints become your most expensive liability.

Start with strategic certainty.

Start with Husky.

When we design a commercial restroom, we don't start with the color palette, toilet, or vanity.

We always start with the operation of the business itself.

This strategic foresight is the hallmark of our professional network and process.

The Question is Always:

How often is your maintenance team going in there?

That single question tells us everything we need to know about material durability and long-term cost control.

- The Floor: We select durability first. Is the tile strong enough for high traffic and continuous cleaning?
- The Walls: If you opt for paper towels versus hand dryers, you invite maintenance teams to be in the space constantly. If you choose a hand dryer, we need to ensure the wall material behind it can withstand years of use and humidity, unlike basic sheetrock.
- The Budget: This planning goes hand-in-hand with your budget. We know exactly where we can push and pull the budget without compromising your operations or the durability of the design.

This level of detailed programming is essential. It prevents you from choosing materials that look great on day one but fail on day 365.

Husky’s Professional Vendor Network implements a design that is built to perform brilliantly for the lifetime of your business.

It’s how We’re Built Different.

There is a fundamental difference between a Contractor and a Construction Manager, and mistaking the two is where most construction nightmares begin.

A Contractor's role is simple: execute tasks. They are paid to swing the hammer, install the materials, and carry out the instructions you give them. They are not here to strategize, control your overall cost, or troubleshoot bad initial plans. If the client communicates the plan improperly, the contractor just executes the mistake.

This is where Husky Design & Build steps in as your true Client Advocate.

We are Construction Management with Design. Our role is to shield you from risk by controlling the entire process from the top down.

We are hired to strategize. We ensure that every detail is properly communicated, the budget is proactively controlled, and the vision is executed flawlessly.

Don't hire an executor and expect a strategist. Hire the advocate who orchestrates the entire project—and guarantees your peace of mind.

11/07/2025

Your project isn’t just a revenue stream for Husky.

Your build deserves more than just "a guy with a truck."

At Husky Design & Build, our Professional Vendor Network is not an accident.

We’ve meticulously put together a strong team of professionals who we trust. These relationships, built over the last decade, are the non-negotiable insurance policy for your project.

We don't hire any random plumber or electrician. These people are specifically selected for your project because they share our exact commitment to quality.

Here is our bottom line for eliminating risk:

- Self-Verification: The people we put on your job are expected to check their own work a minimum of three times. If they aren't verifying their installation and demanding excellence from themselves, they won't be on our next project.
- Shared Goal: When your entire team—from the top down—takes the same amount of pride in their work and shares the same end goal for the client, the result is predictable: a seamless, high-quality space.

We eliminate the biggest problem in construction by only partnering with those who meet our standard of vigilance.

That’s a huge reason why Husky is Built Different.

11/05/2025

In commercial construction, real client advocacy means looking past the surface and minimizing your risk.

In this industry, mistakes could cost millions, and there isn’t an undo button.

For example, take the common commercial bathroom.

Most people think about tiles and fixtures. We immediately ask:

- ADA Compliance: How does someone in a wheelchair maneuver? How do they get onto the toilet?
- Legal Risk: If you have a step at the entrance or lack the proper clearances, you're opening yourself up to a lawsuit and mandatory rework.
- The End User: You don't want to compromise the end user. Your space needs to be usable by anyone and everyone, right from the moment they walk through the door.

These aren't details to "figure out later." These are thought processes up front that determine the scope, the budget, and the success of your project. If they're missed, it means more scope and more budget down the line.

We step in to set those expectations upfront. Our role as your advocate goes beyond meeting code.

At Husky, we focus on protecting your investment and your reputation.

11/03/2025

Stop gambling with your commercial build.

When we approach a commercial project,

- we don't start with hammers
- we don’t start with framing
- we don’t start with paint

We start with an aggressive strategy.

Why?

Because jumping straight into the build without clear planning and programming is a direct path to chaos.

We ask the fundamental question:

Would you drive cross-country without knowing the plan, the direction, the roadmap?

The cheap bid is a promise of guesswork.

That lack of planning guarantees:

- Delays and unexpected headaches.
- More money coming out of your pocket.
- A build that is anything but seamless and smooth.

Don't start digging without your map. Start with the strategy.

For today’s Halloween Edition of Horror Story of Construction…

Part 3…

Imagine a home extension project that starts, stalls, and then hangs over your head

for

nine

years

a constant reminder of money wasted and trust broken.

Our clients lived this nightmare.

They hired a regular gc.

That gc ended up stealing from them, but that’s not even the horror story.

The previous contractor abandoned the site, leaving them with half-finished rough-ins and dangerous mistakes that put their home at risk:

Wrong Framing: Using 2x4 walls for plumbing instead of the code-required 2x6s.
No Function: No dryer plug provided, and zero heating planned for the new bathroom.
Unsafe DIY: The clients were so desperate they had to cut out and install their own stairs.

This is the failure of a project without expertise. This is the risk you pay for when you hire someone who lacks basic strategy.

We took this abandoned, decade-long disaster and finished it in just six weeks.

How?

Strategy.

We don't solve problems with quick fixes; we solve them with comprehensive planning.

We corrected the framing, engineered proper heating (heated floors and baseboards), and provided the full roadmap that was missing for nine years.

We gave the project the love it deserved.

In turn, the clients are in love with their project.

Eliminating Risk means refusing to let your investment be governed by empty promises.

We deliver certainty, not chaos, because at Husky:

We’re Built Different.
