I would like to add that there is a common miss belief with the cellulose insulation. The miss belief is that the cellulose will settle and lose its R Value. Though the insulation does settle such as in an attic, it does not lose its R value from this. Also when blowing walls with cellulose was first becoming popular they did not blow it properly. It was loose filled or Nozzle filled through small holes drilled up the wall cavity. Through trial and error they have come up with an excellent way to really pack it in the wall cavities. This is called Dense packing. A slightly larger hole is used, high compressed air with an industrial blower machine, and a long tube is inserted to the top of the wall cavity and blown until it’s full. Then while removing the hose we dense pack the cavity wich eliminates any settling and also has added benefits such as air sealing and keeping out pests.
