When making a decision about a weapon for home defense there’s a lot to consider. You have to be a contractor, a surveyor and knowledgeable about ballistic. Meaning, to be a responsible gun owner also means being good and responsible to other occupants of your home and your neighbors. Being a contractor means knowing what your home is constructed of. Are the exterior walls “bullet proof”. Windows of course are what they are so training is the only way to avoid that breech of containment in a “Close Quarters Combat “ environment and even that won’t guarantee that an innocent outside your home won’t be hurt or worse. Surveying is knowing what’s beyond where you may have to fire. I believe that not only is intelligent weapon choice important, but proper ammunition for the environment in question equally important. “Less is more” as it relates to home defense. Meaning a projectile that won’t likely over pe*****te or will fragment on contact with hard surfaces would be a better choice for interior and exterior containment. There’s a lot to consider when choosing what is right for you in a home defense scenario but it’s a worthwhile effort when keeping your love ones, friends and neighbors as much out of harms way as humanly possible. Even with all the before mentioned considerations there is much more to consider and none of it will guarantee that in the awful scenario of one being placed in a position to defend yourself in your home that an innocent won’t get hurt. Responsibility, Education, and Training. Your thoughts?
