Underground plumbing work is not for everyone, but it is something our team knows well.

Here are a few recent dig jobs and underground projects we’ve been working on throughout Philadelphia, including curb traps, laterals, area drains, cast-iron piping, inspections, and backfills.

We got the call from a Philly restaurant — hot water issues, and they couldn't figure out why. One visit to the mechanical room told the whole story. 🔧 Here's what we found:
❌ 75-gallon tank with a failed drain pan — rusting out silently at the base
❌ Noritz tankless unit installed without a dedicated air intake
❌ That same Noritz? Residential-rated, no commercial warranty, and the heat exchanger is shot — it's done
❌ Mechanical room piping installed out of sequence — the whole system needs to be re-piped correctly ❌ Zero dedicated hot water line to the kitchen This wasn't bad luck. Cut out a deteriorated 5–6 ft section of 5” cast iron main drain and replaced it the right way — new cast iron, a 5×4 wye, and a 5×2 tee to handle the stack and laundry tub connection.
Cemented the broken brick back up, pressure tested, and passed with flying colors.

🚧 Project in Progress 🚧

We’ve started removing 16 ft of old cast iron piping from the front basement to the front wall — and it’s already clear this line was past its prime.

⏳ Next step: Waiting on insurance approval to move forward with the full replacement and get everything back better than before.

This is the part most people don’t see — the prep, the problem discovery, and making sure it’s done the right way, not the rushed way.
