My compliments and sincere gratitude to Morgan, Pepe, Julio, Jose and the rest of the EarthArt Landscape & Designs crew for taking our patio and yard area from drab to fab! complete demolition and rebuild with fantastic sanded travertine pavers, custom fireplace with reclaimed wood beam mantle and intricate tile work. The final product is perfect in every regard. These guys are true artisans. Worth every penny to know that it was done right by someone with real integrity and commitment to doing the job right.

Adding the details around a central piece is what completes a picture. Twisted iron and a star jasmine to climb through frames the stone. Better yet is the fragrance these small courtyards will enjoy, and if the owner leaves his master bedroom door open, the fragrance will fill the house. The large trees provide shade and dappled light.
We have covered the visual interest, water sound, pleasing smell, and shade. Now a bit time to grow together.

Finished up a nice little project just in time for Thanksgiving and my clients entire family! The total patio cover was removed and rebuilt, ditched the old concrete pillars, brought in some stone and beams to get the SW feel back. The old BBQ was small and falling apart, so we put together a new one for them. Add a charming intimate fireplace, furniture, some colorful fabric and whew...!

A project I have been working on for some time. A blend of mid century modern, clean lines, organized plantings, and some color to reflect our SW heritage. The glass is a chunky yellow glass, caught in a frame of wire with a landscape light behind. The outer areas of the landscape are natural and loosely planted with natives. This melding of themes, anchors a home to it's site, and really creates a sense of belonging.

A totally fun project to build, working with an owners collection and their amazing stories of Africa. Inspiration is great and leads to new ways to express design. The Bubinga slab was a chance find, and an exceptional African wood. It just fit the bill for The dining table.

This is a project I designed in 2009, and with the recovery we were able to complete it this week. Always fun to break out of the box and do something with a challange. Remind you of Sunnylands?
