Anybody can promise you a backyard. Not everybody shows up with the pallets.

This is a new build in the West Valley on day one. Material staged against the house. Base getting graded. Two guys already working before the sun got serious.

That is what a real start looks like. Not a text that says “we’ll get out there next week.”

A lot of crews take your deposit and disappear. That’s not how we work. We show up, we build it, and we stay on it until your yard is done right.

The part of a paver job nobody films.

One mallet. One level. One border that has to be dead straight.

Here’s the thing about pavers: they don’t fail in the middle. They fail at the edge. If that border course isn’t bedded right and locked in, the whole field starts creeping and opening up gaps a couple summers later.

So we set it by hand. Tap it. Check it. Check it again. In August. On our knees. In the sun.

That’s the difference between a yard that looks great the week it’s done and one that still looks great in five years.

Same backyard, mid-build. No turf, no furniture, no lighting. Just base, block, and a crew setting pavers in the middle of an August afternoon in the West Valley.

Here’s why this stage matters more than the reveal: everything that fails in a backyard fails from the bottom up. Pavers that settle. A wall that leans. A patio that puddles every monsoon. That’s almost never bad material. That’s a base nobody compacted and a footing somebody rushed.

So this is where we spend the time. Base compacted in lifts. Sand screeded flat. Block laid true and square before a single paver goes down. The travertine and the cap only go on a wall that was built to hold them.

Get this part right and the pretty part takes care of itself.

This backyard sat well below grade with the pool. So we built the steps.

Then we kept going.

Patio overlay first. Ledge lights set into the steps so you can see where you’re walking at night, and honestly, because it looks incredible.

Cantilever pergola on this side. Two posts, no post out front, so nothing blocks the view. Room for real patio furniture and a TV on the wall.

Solid pergola on the other side, shading the outdoor kitchen so you’re not grilling in the sun.

Fire pit right next to it for the chilly nights.

Then the fun zone: putting green with turf wrapped all the way around. Function plus a pop of green all year.

One crew. One timeline. One yard. No chasing five contractors and hoping they show up 🏆
