We are still at it! Been getting a lot of door jobs lately and we love it! Had the pleasure of custom building two 5ft x 7 1/2ft barn doors for our lovely clients in Leesville, LA.

Tried out something a little different! This past week we had the pleasure of installing over 160ft of 8ft fencing using the galvanized Post Masters. These posts alone made the job move that much more faster, with more rigidity than the 4x4 posts. The type of picket pattern the clients chose is called “Shadow Box” which allows a nice finish look on both sides. We had a great time installing this fence for these wonderful clients.

Client had a metal door on the first floor, on both ends of there house. Down stairs portion of the house is also framed out with cinderblocks (yay). Back door was sealed closed and both rough opening where over 40in.

Came in beefed out the opening so the residential door could fit properly. Liquid nailed the threshold. Leveled out the doors, checked my reveal then nailed/screwed it into the new rough framing. Foamed outside to avoid any weather/bugs from coming in, then added trim around door. Caulked, touch up paint and we were good to go.

Every job has it surprises! On our last flooring job we ran into a wall that’s been catching a bit of weather on the exterior wall and some of the interior wall. Which ended up causing the bottom plates to rot as well as bottom of the studs.

Solution?

Pressure treated 2x4 with foam sill nailed on the bottom of the 2x4 for better protection as well as re seal the brick wall weather membrane. Some spray foam just to help protect even more. Also scabbed in 2x4’s on the existing studs(Yes I put in insulation on exterior wall). Once everything was done internally, we threw up sheet rock, tape, floated, and primed and ended the job with finishing the floor 😊
