It’s that time of year again… the leaves change colors, the grass slowly stops growing, the Steelers give us hope through week 2 and 2 gingers will run a fundraiser for the Sewickley community Center starting on September 17 through October 31. 10% of profits will be donated to this organization that has been making major improvements on their facility and impacting kids in the community as well. The services we will be offering for the fall will be :
•garden designs - installing new plants such as perennials, shrubs and trees to beauty for your garden beds. Whether you want an English style garden, butterfly garden, ornamental trees or privacy hedges we will come up with a free design to make you happy. Despite the what most people think fall is actually the best time to plant with the cooler temperatures.
•winterizing garden beds - it’s about that time in the season where the majority of the perennials and shrubs have stopped flowering and it’s time to cut them back at the appropriate length to ensure they come back looking healthier and stronger in the spring.
•w**ding and mulching - with the final push of good weather coming through our area it’s time to remove out the remaining pesky w**ds from your garden beds and we can install a small layer of mulch to help protect your plants, prevent final w**d growth and ensure they retain water through out the winter.
•tree trimming and shrub pruning - there are a few trees and shrubs that need to be pruned back properly in the fall. Hydrangeas that grow on old growth, lilacs, viburnums, burnish bushes and certain trees can use a healthy pruning .
•create new garden beds - with our brand new rototiller and bed edging machine we can create new garden beds that can add some extra color to your property.
•lawn renovation - with the lack of rain over the past few months I’m sure you’ve noticed your grass may be experiencing some brown spots, pests and grubs. In late September / early October feel free to give us a call and we can help turn your brown grass into a beautiful, lush and green yard.
We will also be taking on new clients for lawn care and leaf cleanup as well.

Wow summer has come and gone pretty quickly over here in Sewickley . With the fall months approaching august can be a good time to prep your beds with w**ding, get that mulch laid down that was never installed or prune some shrubs or boxwoods . As always during the month of August we team up with the local sewickley community center to raise funds for an organization that absolutely love and stand by. Last year we raised over $1700.00 and our goal this year is to reach $2,000.00. Over the course of August 15% of profits will be donated to the Sewickley community center. Well now that’s it’s hopefully done snowing for the season 😩 We are accepting new clients for spring cleanups : w**ding, trimming, pruning, edging and mulching ! We are also accepting new clients for plant installation! If you need help deciding which plants would make your yard and garden look beautiful I can come up with a hand written design for free . It’s that time of the year again. We will be donating 10% of profits from August 9 - September 12 to the sewickley community center . Last year we raised $1,500.00 and were hoping to raise about $2,000.00 this year ! We do have some availability in late august / early September . Also we have about 10-15 spots available for fall planting which takes place in late September/ early fall. If you don’t have the best green thumb I can draw up a free design for you as well . Down below in the photos are a few of my designs .

As we start gearing up for our favorite part of the year , I’d like to thank everyone once again for being very supportive and helpful to our company . I’d like to wish the three new members a warm welcoming to the ginger crew and hope they find as much enjoyment in our line of work as the rest of the fellow gingers . As the weather gets warmer I know we will be receiving a lot of calls, emails and texts from returning and new clients . If you are an old or returning client or we talked last year about putting you on schedule, we do have you on schedule for this year . And we will be accepting new clients as well, but for most, we will not be able to schedule you before Memorial Day weekend .

Also if you do happen to message, email or call me and I don’t get back to you right away . I am not trying to avoid you or turn you away . We are going to be busy and I will try my best to accommodate you in anyway possible .

With all of that being said, running a small business is very hard . It’s not as easy as it’s made out to be. It’s also harder when someone like myself has been fighting depression and anxiety for years and over the past 4 months it has almost been unmanageable.
In a good year , I have 3-5 panic attacks a year . This past winter I’ve had at least 30 of them with multiple mental breakdowns . And this isn’t a pity party . I’m going to get better and all of this will pass , just like the awful winter we all experienced. And this will pass because some of my clients not only reached out to me , but has helped me find the right resources and knowledge to make sure I get through this . You know who you all are and I love you guys very much .

So please be patient.
Please be kind .
And most importantly be kind to yourself . I wish I would have known this years ago . But life is a funny thing . I hope everyone enjoys the rest of this beautiful Sunday .

PS bark madness will be taking place towards the end of June . As much as your dog photos bring me and everyone else joy, I will be either working outside or on myself for the next 2 months so we’ll have to delay it . Thanks .

So I’m sure nobody saw this because trib total media put the south hills winners in the sewickley herald. But fortunately our friends at Draguns landscape supply (who we beat 😅. I’m so sorry we love you guys! ) sent us this picture yesterday . We won first place for best lawn care in the northern region of Pittsburgh. I’d like to thank all of our hardworking team members and our lovable, patient clients who helped us out this year.
On a side note we hired a lovely lady who does a great job with potted arrangements . If anybody knows a struggling family in the area that would like some free holiday wreaths, potted plants and lighting please message me on here and we can set something up . I hope everyone has a safe and blessed holiday season !

I hope everyone is enjoying this beautiful fall weather because I know my team members and myself certainly don’t miss working in 93 degrees heat 😅. So two things : first I want to thank everyone for hiring us during the month of august which allowed us to make more money and in turn, donate more to the sewickley community center. We raised $1,500.00 for them and we are excited to keep working with them in the future .

Secondly for whatever reason we were nominated in the top 5 for best landscaping company for the north hills region . If you guys have some free time, feel free to go onto Trib total media best of the best and vote for us . We are under - northern region - home services - landscaping then vote for 2 gingers and a shovel . Nobody really has free time, but when it’s half time on Sunday and the Steelers offense hasn’t produced more than 9 points because we’re an awful first half team you can think to yourself, “hey maybe I don’t need to listen to these halftime commentators talk about something I already know. Maybe I will spare two minutes and vote for 2 gingers and a shovel.” We would appreciate the vote as much as Big Ben appreciates not getting slammed by 300 pound human beings due to our collapsing offensive line .

Quick update : so far we have raised $500.00 for the sewickley community center .
On another note : fall planting and mulching is right around the corner . If anyone is interested in some fall planting feel free to give us a call . If you don’t have any garden beds or your beds are completely overgrown we are reserving the last week of august and first week of September to prepare beds for fall planting . Whether it’s tilling a new garden bed or ripping out overgrown shrubs we would be happy to help . Also if you have no idea what to plant I will be doing free designs/ ideas for plants that will do well in those areas . The first 12 photos are from the gingers ripping out plants , rototilling and then adding plants and mulch. And all of them but 1 are the designs that I have made this past year . Soooo scratch that last post ..... we added two new members to our ginger crew . So we are accepting new clients for August and early September because yet again we will be donating 5% of profits to the Sewickley Community Center for the month of August and the first week of September. SCC made great strides since last year as the interior of the building is almost completely finished. But they can always use more money and volunteer efforts with the landscaping and the outside of the building. Feel free to call us at 412-719-5949 to schedule a free estimate !
