Our hearts go out to everyone who has been without power since Thursday night’s storms. We know how difficult and stressful the past few days have been for many families throughout our community.

If your pool has gone an extended period without circulation, here are a few steps to take once your power returns:

✅ Make sure the pool’s water level is at the correct level before restarting the pump. You may need to drain some water.
✅ Empty the skimmer and pump baskets
✅ Check the equipment for storm damage
✅ Test and balance the water (pH, Alkalinity, Calcium)
✅ Brush the walls and floor thoroughly, skim out all debris.
✅ Do an extra shock treatment of the pool if the water is cloudy, green or showing signs of algae
✅ Run the filtration system continuously until the water clears, cleaning or backwashing the filter as needed

Please never mix pool chemicals together, and if you’re unsure what your pool needs, bring us a water sample. Our team will help you make a safe, simple plan to get it back in shape — for free.
