When outdoor temperatures drop, your furnace may need to run longer to bring your home up to the temperature set on the thermostat. That alone isn’t a problem.
What matters is how the system is running.
If the furnace is running for longer periods but your home reaches the temperature you set and the system shuts off normally, that can be expected in colder weather.
If it runs continuously, struggles to reach the set temperature, cycles on and off repeatedly, or the airflow feels weak, that’s different.
Longer run time isn’t automatically a problem. Trouble keeping up is a different story.
If your system isn’t keeping up with the temperature you’ve set, schedule a service with Topline Heating & Air and have it checked before the coldest part of the season.
