Another job down! This section of fence was adapted from a 4ft tall fence, but the short posts were not ideal for a 6ft height fence. This client also wanted better access into the backyard for their gardening projects.

So we removed the old section of fence and installed a new properly built 6-ft privacy fence with an 8ft wide double gate.

On the other side of the house we added two posts and a pre-built panel using materials they had already in order to install a metal swinging gate.

New patio door installed today with internal blinds and a screen door as well. A bit of moulding around the inside and outside to cover the gaps and this one couldn't have gonna any snoother.

I didn't think to take before pictures because I get too excited to start ripping out the old and getting to it.

Another deck down. This back porch was just not enough space and they wanted to expand it out and add a little privacy as well as easy access to the yard. Framed on top of the existing slab to create a flush transition to the outside, instead of a step down (really should have taken a pic of that). Standard railing on one side, and a privacy wall on the other to block off the street view to this outdoor space. Also poured a new concrete pad for the sidewalk and base of the second staircase pictured, since the previous was cracking and out of level for the landing.

For the front porch this client was left with an unfinished skirt which was an eyesore they wanted remedied. A little bit of framing and some PVC shiplap and it really elevated the curb appeal of this home. Gate on one side for under porch access, in case it is ever needed.

Remember we are booked until mid September so if you're looking for an outdoor space renovation like this, be sure to hit us up so you can enjoy it for spooky season and have it ready to go for next spring.

In the list of fun projects this is dang sure up there. If you love board games like I do, you know they demand their own space and presentation.

When we moved this past summer my wife and I immediately agreed that this empty room needed to become a board game closet. She pushed for stained rather than painted boards, and I hate to admit that she was right.

A friend also informed me that it needed a motion light, and dang it all, he was right too.

From an empty room, to a chokey nightmare with just the braces mounted, to wall to wall shelving, this blank room is now a showpiece!

All caught up on our outdoor jobs, so it's time to fill you in on our indoor work while we complete our current jobs. Besides, we're all booked for the summer anyways, so you might as well get your indoor work lined up now!

This was our first time tiling with schulter uncoupling membrane instead of cement board and we will definitely be using it from now on going forward. Also our first time installing heated tile flooring and it was surprisingly simple with this uncoupling membrane.

Truly happy with how this came out, and would love to install this again if you are looking to get rid of that cold tile under your feet.

Rotting boards, collapsing railings, leaning post supports, and an out of level frame were making this deck more of a liability than a useable outdoor space.

So we jacked up the frame to level and installed a new post and beam support, before removing and redoing the decking boards and railings as well.

The first two pictures really say all that needs to be said about how much safer this structure is now. You'll be seeing this one again in a few months when she dries out and we return to give it a stained finish.

Client had some pre-existing panels on hand so we put some fence posts in the ground, popped on some panels and that's all she wrote for a quick privacy fence addition that will allow them some more privacy for their backyard patio.

Not gonna lie, the videos down the fence line always do something for me. So satisfying.

All caught up with the fall jobs and time to get you all caught up on the spring season work.

We're already booked up until end of July, so if you're thinking of getting a nice new outdoor space this season, you better reach out soon, cause the spring calendar is booked and the summer calendar is almost full already.

For this job we built a deck frame around the existing porch in order to cover this concrete porch with failing railings with a new wooden porch and railings that are built to last.

A big upgrade to this deck. Replaced the 4x4 posts with new 6x6 posts. And made sure they were attached to concrete piers dug down below the frost line.

Then beefed up the frame and added stairs with a landing and 90 degree turn to ensure light could still make it into the basement window.

With the beefed up frame, we were also able to upgrade to composite decking and vinyl railings.

This old deck had a less than unfortunate placement of the stairs in relation to the porch post, and had a lot of rotting issues within the framework.

We removed all the decking boards and railings, as well as the existing steps, and repaired/extended the framing to allow for a new stairs placement that allowed for better use of the space.

New decking boards and railings, along with the installation at a gate at the top of the stairs, and this space is now more than child friendly and ready for use.

A small job, but a high risk. Rotting posts and framing were bringing this two story porch down into the ground.

With a little bit of care and precision, we lifted things back to level and installed new framing and posts to keep it that way.
