I know I did a lot of walking in the last week, but I'm pretty sure I didn't walk almost 92 miles in one day 😅

The Young Hull's flowers are growing wonderfully. They learned about deadheading and watering and have been doing so well at taking care of their flowers.

They picked half of these out on opening day at Lynch Creek Nursery and grabbed the rest as a mother's day gift for me. We planted them up here on the porch right next to the door.

It's a great little patch of flowers to brighten up everything.

Planting purple bush beans in along my corn rows.

I'm trying to make the best of my space and corn is a heavy feeder. Beans at supposed to be good complimentary companion plants, so I figure why not try it.

Going for more of a controlled chaos garden. Trying new things and seeing how it goes.

My pickle corner!

This is where I grow cucumbers and coexist with the Dill.

I'm planning on doing sooo many more pickles this year and maybe even try a dill relish(not sweet!) and definitely more red pepper flake dills. The cucumbers are Pic-a-little from Gurney's Seed and Nursery Co. I grew them last year and I think they're great. They hold in the fridge for a bit longer than others so it's easier to get enough for a batch.

I've also got my buttercrunch lettuce from Mary's Heirloom Seeds this is my first time growing lettuce and I think I'll keep growing it each year. These are ready to harvest now so maybe we'll have lettuce wraps for dinner.

There's a muddy mess in front of the coop and it makes things such a pain.

Luckily a fresh layer of pine shavings helped a bit. The inside of the coop itself is dry so at least there's that.

The first Strawberry of the year. I should've rinsed it, it was a bit gritty.

Out of 30 plants I had 6 dahlias left.

I have no idea what kind they are since I didn't label them when I pulled them last year but I really, really, hope I have a Kasasagi, Seattle, and Miss Mandy.

Whatever I do have though I'm sure will be pretty and once they are pulled this autumn I'll label them and give away extras to just keep my stock to 6.

Or maybe 8 since I've got space for 2 more planters.

With all things considered I've decided to make the switch from a flower garden over to a food garden.

I am keeping Opa John's batchelor buttons and my Gladiolus because they bring me joy and the hummingbirds and pollinators love them.

Other than that it's going to be edible plants in here now, too.

That's a lottawata!

Just a week ago people were swimming down at the beach and as you can see that would be I'll advised right now.

It's been raining for the last 4 or 5 days.

I really hope that with all this rain we don't suddenly go into drought. All the growth that is happening now would dry out and be more susceptible to fires.
