One thing that always makes us scratch our heads is when we hear a fence company tell a homeowner, “We can start tomorrow.”

Our first thought is:

“Have the utility lines been marked yet?”

Before anyone starts digging post holes, an 811 utility locate should be requested so public underground utility lines can be marked. In most areas, that process takes 2–4 business days.

Most homeowners don’t think about what’s buried underground until something gets hit. A damaged utility line can mean costly repairs, interrupted service, or, in some cases, a serious safety hazard.

We know there are situations where utilities have already been marked or digging isn’t required. But if a project involves digging for new fence posts, asking about 811 is one of the simplest ways to protect your property.

It’s a small question that can prevent a very big problem.

Every project doesn’t go perfectly.

We made a mistake on this one. It was frustrating, but instead of making excuses, we owned it and made it right.

When we say we stand behind our work, we mean it. A warranty isn’t just something we put on paper—it’s a commitment to our customers long after the job is finished.

This video is from the homeowner sharing what happened and how we handled it. We’re grateful they were willing to tell their story.

If you’re looking for a fence company that takes responsibility and stands behind its work, we’d be happy to help.

We hear stories like this more often than we should. A good fence project starts with clear communication, proper scheduling, and a crew that actually shows up.

At Mom’s Fence Man, we keep the process straightforward and stand behind the work. Whether it’s a new wood fence or replacement, we’re here to help get it done right.

We had a little extra attention from above while we were working—guess even the helicopter approved.

Working this close to the edge keeps you honest! 😂

This project had good bones, but the lumber was worn out and starting to give way.

We replaced all the wood on this cedar fence and brought it back to life.
