Mojave Desert Design Shop our gardens of hand-selected succulents, cactus, petrified wood and river rock specimens or request a custom design. Hence, Mojave Desert Design was born.

Almost forty years ago I created my first cactus and succulent garden in a 14” shallow clay pot. It is still growing strong today, along with a sizable collection of cactus and succulent gardens of various sizes and shapes. Upon the urging of family and friends, I decided to share these truly unique gardens with people who appreciate a custom, desert inspired garden to grow and care for. The featu

red rock outcroppings in these gardens are pieces of Petrified wood that have been collected by my family over the past fifty-five years from the Greenhorn River Canyon located near Colfax, CA. These rocks are very rare and add an unique character to the gardens. In addition to these special rocks, I have created another collection using river rock specimens that have also been collected over the years. I feel that the rocks placed in my gardens are as important as the carefully selected plant specimens, and is the reason my gardens truly reflect a desert landscape on a miniature scale. We chose to create an icon for our gardens, and he is the MOJAVE MAN. I created a small copper wire figure to place in your garden that is intended to animate your garden and lead you on tours into your own little desert oasis. These gardens are engineered and designed to last a lifetime, and if maintained properly, they can grow for decades and be passed on to generations for the future enjoyment of everyone involved. After purchasing one of our gardens, I hope you find enjoyment over the years in tending to these specially designed gardens, as I have. It is a very relaxing hobby, the gardens do not take up much space, are portable and are very resilient. Upon purchasing one of our gardens, I recommend that you occasionally get down to eye level with your garden, use your imagination, and with the help of the MOJAVE MAN, enter your desert scape for a minute or more…it feels great!
