When historic buildings lose their architectural details, something changes.

Shutters, trim, molding, and other decorative features may seem minor, but together they contribute to a building's character and sense of place.

Plymouth County Tuberculosis Hospital – Nurses Quarters in Hanson, MA
We believe this building was built in 1939 on a foundation from a prior structure, but proof and historic photos have been hard to find.

The Plymouth Memorial Day Parade begins at 9:30 AM Monday at Memorial Hall at 83 Court Street in Plymouth.
In honor of the holiday, we celebrate the architecture of this historic landmark.

Originally opened in 1926 as a gathering place for returning soldiers, Memorial Hall combines traditional red brick masonry with strong symmetry, arched entryways, multi-pane windows, and a prominent pediment and cupola that reinforce its role as a public memorial building. The building’s formal composition reflects the civic architecture of the early 20th century — designed to communicate dignity, community, and remembrance.

Super excited to be working with the Town of Plymouth on their 1749 courthouse. Did you know that this building right on town square was the home base for the colony government and later the county until 1820 when they sold it to the town for use as the town house (aka town hall).
