We took this space down to a blank canvas and rebuilt a clean, modern lobby that sets the tone the second you walk in. Framing, drywall, electrical, flooring, finishes… A lot happens between the “before” and “after,” and this is a good look at what that process actually takes.

We’ve officially kicked off renovations for the Covenant House New Orleans Care Center lobby, the very first space young people see when they come for safety and support. As they say goodbye to a front desk that’s served since 1987, a new chapter begins.

The Building Group is proud to help bring this space to life, all while Covenant House New Orleans continues to provide 24/7 care for the youth who need it most.

Poydras Home Renovation: Project Update 🏗️

Progress is moving fast at the Poydras Home project as we continue transforming Unit #3. Our team made major strides last week, laying the groundwork for the next phase of finishes.

✅ Completed mobilization and demolition in Unit #3
✅ Primed, and painted cabinet boxes, walls, ceilings, and trim
✅ Installed bathroom drywall and crown molding
✅ Began electrical trim-out and final paint

With the heavy lifting complete, we are dialing in the details and pushing toward a polished finish. Excited to see this space continue to come together, with renovations in the First Floor Lobby beginning this week.

Poydras Home Renovation: Finish Selections 👀

Take a first look at the finish materials for the Poydras Home Renovation on Magazine Street in New Orleans: engineered wood flooring, kitchen backsplash, cabinet finishes, wall, door, and trim paint, and wall and floor tile.

While we wait for approval from the Orleans Parish Permit Department, we are assembling mockups, reviewing samples, and preparing for the client’s final approval. These finishes provide a preview of how the renovation will enhance the design and functionality of this historic facility.
