It is with a heavy heart that we share one of our brothers Ron Hughes passed away October 10, 2019 from injuries sustained by a vehicle that entered the work zone he was in.

An outstanding Lineman, leader and mentor, Ron was from Escanaba, Michigan and had been a part of the SPE Family since May 6, 2019. Our thoughts and prayers go out his family, friends and coworkers during this difficult time.

Ronald “Ron” M. Hughes, 60, of Escanaba, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, October 10, 2019 while working in Grand Rapids, MI. Ron was born at St. Francis Hospital on April 18, 1959. David P. Postill - SPE’s founder passed away peacefully on Saturday, June 29th 2019. Opening SPE doors in 2001 as a IBEW journeyman lineman with an idea and a ton of passion, he grew the organization into a nationally recognized and respected energy resource service company. Dave was a leader, mentor and teacher, encouraging those around him to always strive to do more than they thought they could do, and to be greater than they thought they could be. After stepping down from active management of SPE in 2016, he pursued his many passions - boating, aviation, traveling and most importantly family. We are deeply saddened by the loss of Dave, he was a man who loved life, people and deeply loved SPE. SPE will continue its growth with its current Executive Team and support of the Postill family.
