Two new metal roofs went up in Ocean Shores this month — close enough to hear the same waves!

Living on the coast is a dream for many, but the PNW coast collects salt air, wind coming off the Pacific with nothing to slow it down, and month after month of sideways moisture. Ordinary roofs age in dog years out here.

That's exactly the assignment our PNW engineered metal shingles were built for. Each panel interlocks with its neighbors — so the wind that races across those dunes has no loose edge to grab — and the finish is made to shrug off the salt air that eats lesser materials. One home chose Dawn Grey, the neighbor went Charcoal Grey. Both are done thinking about their roofs. For good.

One honest thing we tell every coastal homeowner, because most companies won't: many roofing warranties are quietly reduced — or voided — within a mile of saltwater. It's in the fine print. Ours isn't like that: lifetime, non-prorated, and it transfers if you ever sell. Bring us any warranty you're comparing and we'll walk through the coastal clauses together, no pressure.

This Redmond estate was built in 2009 with a cement tile roof — a premium product, a real investment, exactly what you'd expect on a home like this. Seventeen years later, the tiles started cracking. And when the homeowners went looking for replacements, they ran into a wall nobody warns you about:

No replacement tiles. No warranty to call on. Nobody left to stand behind the roof. Through no fault of their own, they were on their own.

So this time, they chose differently — not just a different material, but a different kind of promise. We installed our Slate Grey Oxford metal shingle across the whole roofscape, and honestly, the stone and iron on this home have never had a better match. Metal that reads like slate, on a house built like a castle and made for the Pacific Northwest.

The lesson we'd pass along from their experience: a roof is only as good as two things — the material on top, and whoever's still answering the phone in year seventeen. It's why our warranty is lifetime, non-prorated, and transfers if the home ever sells. Words on paper matter less than who's behind them.

Labor Day is coming — it marks the end of Summer, the start of school but more importantly, it's the holiday that honors people who work hard for a living. Around here, that's not an abstract idea. Our installers spend all year on rooftops in full sun, cold temperatures, rain, etc. doing precise work in unforgiving places.

But the holiday belongs to every kind of hard work — nurses on their feet all shift, teachers setting up classrooms, drivers, builders, fixers. If that's you, we're marking the season your way:

12 months. 0 payments. 0 interest. — starting today, running through Labor Day (September 7). O.A.C.

Here's what that actually means: the roof you've been putting off goes on this fall, in prime installation weather — and your first payment doesn't arrive until next September.

Hard work deserves a home that doesn't add to the workload, and a metal roof never will: no moss treatments, no patch jobs, no replacing it in 10-15 years. One roof, done.

If you've been waiting for the right time — this is us making the timing easy, from now until the holiday. Free assessment, straight answers, zero pressure. If your current roof has good years left, we'll tell you that too.

From our hardworking crew to yours. Do it once. Do it right.

Customer Spotlight!

This review came in this week and honestly, it made our whole day.

Kathy and her family have a 1950 brick rambler in Seattle. Before picking a roofer, they did their homework — sat down with three other companies, compared products, installation, ventilation, price, all of it. That's exactly how we'd tell our own family to shop for a roof, by the way.

Wildfire season is part of living in the Northwest now — and before anything else:

if you've spent this last week dealing with poor air quality, packed a go-bag, or watched the ridge line a little too closely, we see you. Our thoughts are with every family and firefighter dealing with it this summer.

Because it's on people's minds, one of the questions we hear most this time of year is: "Does a metal roof actually matter in fire season?"

The honest answer: it helps, in one specific and important way. When wildfires spread to homes, it's often not the wall of flame — it's embers, carried on the wind, landing on roofs. A metal roof is noncombustible and carries a Class A fire rating (the highest there is). Embers landing on metal have nothing to ignite.

Is it the whole answer? No — defensible space, cleared gutters, and a family plan matter just as much, and no roof makes a home fireproof. But of all the things a house wears, the roof is the one that catches what the wind carries. This video explains how it works.

Stay safe out there, neighbors. For preparedness resources, your county's emergency management page and ready.gov/wildfires are worth a bookmark.

We just won a national award. And it's not about us — it's about doing it right.

Mountaintop Metal Roofing has been named a Quarterly National Project Winner by the Metal Roofing Alliance — recognized for Best Roofing Project.

This isn't a local award. This is a national organization made up of metal roofing manufacturers, installers, and industry experts across the country — and they chose one of our projects to represent what proper metal roofing installation should look like.

Here's what matters.

Anyone can install a metal roof. Very few install it the way it's supposed to be done — the right materials, the right techniques, the right attention to detail that holds up for decades, not just years.

This award isn't a trophy for us to put on a shelf. It's proof of something we've said from day one:

Metal roof problems don't come from the material. They come from the install. A specialist is what every homeowner deserves!

We're proud of our team, proud of this recognition, and even more proud of the homeowners who trusted us to do it once and do it right.

Thank you to the Metal Roofing Alliance for the honor — and to every homeowner who's let us take care of their home.

✨ PROJECT SPOTLIGHT — Sultan, WA ✨

From Texas to the foothills of the Cascades!

When these homeowners relocated to Sultan, WA, they got the view of a lifetime — and a roof that wasn't ready for the weather that comes with it. The home was built in 2007, still wearing its original composite shingle. Eighteen Northwest winters had done what our climate does: worn it down a little more every soak-and-dry cycle.

Rather than put on another roof they'd replace again, they chose our Tudor Brown Embossed Slate metal shingle — the slate look that fits a mountain lodge, built to shed this weather instead of wearing down in it.

And here's a detail worth knowing if your home has skylights: we replaced all ten of them during the install. When a roof comes off, that's the moment to do skylights — the flashing gets integrated into the new system instead of patched around, and you never put 18-year-old skylights under a lifetime roof. New gutters and downspouts finished the job, so the whole water path — roof to ground — is new.

Do it once. Do it right.
