A stately front porch that actually protects those from the rain or snow when a visitor or package is at the door. Such seemingly natural, and original-looking architecture actually took a lot of thought, proportion, and calculation to alter from the original curved and under-sized Georgian portico when trying to simultaneously honor historical architecture AND current functionality.

An arch can signify something special that is meant to draw your attention near to it. But be careful to use them sparingly. Much like a rainbow, if you see one, maybe two, it's really magical, but if they were everywhere you'd lose interest from it's lack of uniqueness.
