This was one of those tasks where I just needed to put my headphones in and get to work in order to get it all done in a reasonable amount of time. Multiple boxwood trims, multiple flowerbed clean-outs, iris salvaging, flowerbed removal, and holly bush trimming.

Last month, I was given the opportunity to provide a makeover for some local flowerbeds. This is just one example of the odd jobs that I offer services towards. The before and afters say it all.

When I first looked at the mulch situation I noticed there was not any fabric below the old mulch, so instead of putting new on top of old and continuing to watch the weeds poke through each year, I suggested we add a layer of fabric once I finished the initial request of trimming back the bushes and adding mulch, turns out it was a welcomed suggestion. Cleaning out the old mulch also made it a lot easier to clear the debris left from trimming the bushes, so ultimately the suggestion worked out great for me as well as the homeowner. Though I misjudged how much mulch was necessary to cover the new fabric, I nevertheless got it done with a couple extra trips to the store.😅

Mowing season is here.

I have already made it out to a handful of my regulars that needed their yard cut, and also I had a few that wanted to wait an extra week before we got started. Luckily for those who wanted to wait, it's about to rain on and off for a week, so they get a two week break on the beginning of the season instead of one.

Happy New Year folks!

Our weather is turning nasty this week, now I don't know about you but I love the cold. Whether it's wet cold, windy cold, sunny cold, you name it. I love it. With that drop in temperature, a lot of outside tasks can become irrelevant pretty quickly, but while you're inside you might start to notice things you want done around the house. When we get bad weather, limbs fall, it is part of having trees in our yards.

When they do fall, what is your go to? Maybe you don't own a chainsaw? Lifting some of those limbs can be really difficult without first cutting them. Some times even when they are cut they can still be extremely heavy to pick up off the ground for someone that has back or neck issues. Maybe you don't have a truck and/or trailer to haul them away?
