You lifted the slab. But did you fix the soil?

Foundation repairs that don’t address the ground underneath are a short-term fix. That’s why so many homes end up cracking again.

In this article, our COO Todd Horn explains why the real issue isn’t just structural—it’s subsurface. And how our injection solution stabilizes the soil to keep foundations from shifting in the first place.

🛠️ This is the fix before the fix.

When should you really worry about a crack in your foundation?

If your home’s foundation has moved more than 1.5 inches, you’re likely already seeing significant cracks — and it’s not going to fix itself.

At ProChemical, we take soil that could swell up to 6% and reduce movement down to about 1%—or just 1.2 inches. That’s a massive drop in stress on your foundation.

Even better? Homeowners can see the results in as little as 48 hours after injection. In fact, our crew often returns the next day and can visibly see where the ground has shifted and stabilized.

✅ Stabilization you can see.
✅ Lasting results (we’re still tracking jobs we did over 30 years ago).
✅ One-time treatment. No re-dos. No repeat costs.

If you’re looking at cracks and wondering, “Should I fix it now or wait?” — get the soil checked. Don’t just treat the symptom. Fix the root cause.

💥 Cracks in your pool? It’s not the shell—it’s the soil.
If the ground moves, your pool breaks. Here’s how to stop it:

5 Quick Tips:

Test soil before digging.

Inject the ground to lock it down.

Fix drainage—keep water moving away.

Skip cheap backfill.

Keep soil moisture consistent year-round.

ProChem treats the ground beneath before movement becomes a problem.

The Dirt’s Dry. You Think It’s Safe to Build?"

Caption: Just because the ground looks dry doesn’t mean it’s ready.

This time of year, clay can shrink at the surface and still be swelling underneath. We’ve seen it crack slabs, shift beams, and knock schedules off course.

That’s why every job we touch starts with the data—not a guess.

🏗️ Building on expansive clay? You don’t have to fight the soil.

We just dropped a quick video showing how our hydraulic injection process works—and why more builders and developers are turning to ProChemical for soil prep that actually holds.

✅ Pre-swelling the ground with water
✅ Injecting an ionizing solution to stabilize clay
✅ Reducing heave, shrinkage, and construction delays

No massive excavation. No waiting weeks for moisture conditioning. Just reliable, construction-ready soil—treated from the subsurface up.

Whether you're planning a foundation or trying to avoid future cracks, this is worth a watch.

Soil Heave & Shrinkage: The Hidden Forces Behind Foundation Damage
What you're seeing here is the result of expansive clay reacting to moisture changes—a natural but serious threat to any structure.

In many parts of Texas and surrounding states, the soil contains high-plasticity clays that swell when wet and shrink when dry. This cycle—heave and shrinkage—puts constant stress on foundations, slabs, and sidewalks. It doesn’t happen evenly either. One corner might rise two inches while the other settles, causing cracks in walls, sticking doors, and structural shifts.

The problem isn't just surface-level—it’s deep in the ground. Without proper treatment, these soils will continue to move with every weather swing. And even if you fix one area, untreated soil nearby can still shift, pushing problems elsewhere.

The key isn’t just reacting to damage—it’s preventing it by treating the soil beneath the structure. Stabilizing the subsurface stops the expansion and contraction before it starts, helping ensure that what you build stays put.

Because if the ground keeps moving, everything on top eventually will too.
