Well-maintained equipment breaks down less and runs longer. Servicing it safely takes a few non-negotiables:

✔ Shut it off and lock it out before you start
✔ No jewelry, gloves, or loose sleeves, and tie back long hair
✔ Never reach over or between moving belts, pulleys, or shafts
✔ Put the guards back before the job is done
✔ Clean up excess grease and oil so no one slips

It’s Fleet Friday, and we’re spotlighting Jerry Plummer, a mechanic on the Ge**er Construction team.

Jerry joined Ge**er in October 2024. Before that, he ran presses on third shift at Tubelite, and before that he spent 18 years at Sackett Spring & Alignment. At Ge**er, he works on everything from semis to loaders and bulldozers, handling kingpins, spring work, and fabrication. He also supports the Nate Green Trucking fleet.

When we asked what he values most about working at Ge**er, Jerry pointed to the flexibility. When family needs come up, there’s room to handle them and make up the time.

We caught up with our Quality Concrete team early Friday morning in Cadillac, and they were already hard at work in the near dark! 🌄

The crew is working on a new whitebox build-out. That means we’ll finish the space up to the point where a new tenant can come in and decide the rest.

Fleet Friday: Allen Rehkopf

All that chrome and a long white hood: if you’ve seen this Nate Green rig rolling through Reed City, you’ve probably seen Allen Rehkopf behind the wheel.

Allen earned his CDL in 2020 and has been part of the NGT crew on and off for five years. He keeps coming back for the same reason a lot of our drivers do: the people. Every time he returns, he slides right back in like he never left.

Steady, reliable, and always ready to roll, Allen is a big part of what keeps Nate Green Trucking moving. Next time you pass him on the road, give him a wave! 👋

Meet the Team:
Bryan Brown, Project Manager

Bryan has spent 40 years in construction, 26 of them in commercial and industrial work, and has been a licensed builder for more than 15 years. He started out as a custom cabinet maker, and that eye for detail still shows in every project he leads. He’s been with Ge**er since 2019.

You’ve likely driven past his work. Bryan has managed projects including Chemical Bank in Cadillac, West Michigan Credit Union in Reed City, Family Health Care in Big Rapids, and the Sauble, Elk, Eden Fire Hall.

When a project calls for quality work and practical problem-solving in the field, Bryan is the one keeping it on track. 🏗️

Fleet Friday: Meet Austin Grein

If you’ve seen this orange beauty rolling down the road with a load of heavy equipment, that’s Austin Grein behind the wheel. He handles all of our heavy equipment and machinery runs, delivering the machines our crews rely on and bringing them home when the job is done.

Austin has been driving for eight years and learned the trade from Nate Green himself, before Nate Green Trucking became part of the Ge**er family. He first joined us in 2022 for a year and came back in April 2026 for his second round with the team.

Welcome back, Austin. We’re glad to have you and that truck on the road again.

A utility knife is the tool everyone reaches for without thinking — and that’s exactly the problem. Misused knives and blades cause more disabling injuries than any other hand tool.

🔪 Sharp blade, every time. Dull blades take more force, and force is what makes them slip.
🧤 Cut-resistant gloves on, body out of the blade’s path.
↩️ Pull the cut — never push it.
🔒 Retract it the second you set it down.
