We have another outstanding PTF being awarded!! Monica Fossi was nominated by Елена Атанасиу and received the award for the month of December. Елена Атанасиу said this in her nomination: "It is with great pleasure that I would like to recommend Monica Fossi, part-time Spanish instructor in the Humanities Department for the Part-time Faculty of the Month Award. Instructor Fossi joined our department in Spring 2018 and since then she has proven to be an excellent teacher and a wonderful asset to our Spanish faculty. During this time, Monica distinguished herself with a large and ongoing education teaching commitment, and her openness for collaboration and improvement. Monica has participated in many professional development workshops, and she is doing ACUE this year as well! In her classes, she offers differentiated instructional activities to support the learning styles of all students and includes a variety of teaching strategies like songs, games, or information-gap activities. In her class, you can expect to try a typical Venezuelan dish, and/or to dance to the rhythm of cumbia, salsa or some other Latin American dances. In addition to that, Monica is a great and enthusiastic mentor and one of the favorites amongst our students. She has brought much energy, ideas, and excellence to our Department. She has a smile for everyone and strives to be a positive influence in every situation. We are very lucky to have her."
