My chiropractor loves this photo.
Ropes.
Tools.
Gear.

And somehow I still probably forgot something in the truck.

That’s tree work.

Everybody sees the saw.

They don’t always see the setup.

Or the 14 trips back and forth because one guy said, “I think we need the other rope.”

But that’s part of doing the job right.

Bring the right equipment.

Take your time.

Protect the yard.

Leave the place cleaned up.

So if you ever see us hauling way too much stuff across a yard…

Just know we’re working hard…

Or we’re just getting our cardio in for the day.

One of my favorite things about living around here is that people still wave.

At a stop sign.

From the truck.

Across the gas station parking lot.

It’s simple, but I like it.

A little wave or nod of the head still means something.

It means people notice each other.

People still take two seconds to be friendly.

And around here, acting like you didn’t see somebody is almost suspicious.

That’s one of the things I love about this community.

It still has that small-town feel.

So if you see me around town and I throw a hand up from the truck…

I’m just saying hey.

Or I’m 60% sure I know you.

Either way, we’re both committed now.

P.S. If you wave back, I will assume we’re friends now... which is legally binding here in Idaho Falls.

Free tree advice.
Also willing to give life advice, but I should warn you…

Most of it for some reason turns into tree advice.

“Be patient.”

“Grow strong roots.”

“Don’t stand too close to power lines.”

Stuff like that.

P.S. Fashion advice is also available, but only if you’re trying to match your pants to your chainsaw.

It didn’t say no.
So here we are.

If this tree starts getting more likes than me, I’m deleting this immediately.

One of my favorite pieces of American history is something a lot of people have never heard of.

Before America was a country, there was an old elm tree in Boston.

It sat along one of the busiest roads into town.

In 1765, a group of regular people gathered under that tree to protest the newly imposed stamp tax they thought was unfair.

the tree became a gathering place for protests, celebrations, speeches, and meetings

Before long, that old elm tree had a new name…

The Liberty Tree.

The tree is still remembered today.

But it was the ordinary people beneath it who changed history.

Blacksmiths.

Carpenters.

Farmers.

Merchants.

Just regular citizens.

People who worked with their hands, kept their word, and wanted to build something better for their kids and grandkids.

Two hundred and fifty years later…

I think that's still what makes America special.

Not the buildings.

Not the politics.

It’s the people.

Parents raising their kids.

Small business owners opening before sunrise.

The first responders. Teachers. Nurses.

The men and women who work with their hands every day.

And the neighbors who still wave when you drive by.

That's the America worth celebrating.

So Happy Independence Day, everyone.

🇺🇸 God bless America.

P.S. We may be a little biased... but it's pretty cool that one of the greatest symbols of American freedom… happened to be a tree. 🌳

We hired a local 4th grader to do our marketing to try and keep our prices reasonable and pass the savings on to you 🤣

In all seriousness though, we believe in keeping our overhead low so we can keep our prices fair.

No fancy marketing department. No corporate headquarters. Just a local crew that shows up, does great work, and charges you honestly for it.

We'll give you an honest estimate…and we promise not to draw it with crayons.

I want to tell you about a job we did recently for James here in Idaho Falls.

He had a big ash tree hanging over his house and his neighbor's fence and yard.

Not a small situation.

One wrong cut and we're looking at a roof claim or a very unhappy neighbor.

We showed up ready to work.

And for a while the wind was actually on our side.

Helping us direct branches exactly where we needed them to go.

Then the gusts hit 50 miles an hour.

At that point the wind stopped being our friend.

We made the call to shut it down for the day.

I know some companies would have pushed through.

We didn't.

Because a tree hanging over someone's house in 50mph winds is not the time to be a hero.

We came back when conditions were safe and finished the job the right way.

James said we did a stupendous job and that he would recommend us to anyone who ever needs tree work.

That meant a lot to us.

But honestly the thing I'm most proud of isn't the finished job.

It's the decision to stop.

Knowing when not to cut is just as important as knowing how to cut.

That's 15 years of experience talking.

If you've got a tree situation in Idaho Falls that needs to be handled carefully and correctly, we'd love to earn your trust.

P.S. James never once complained about us shutting it down. That kind of trust means everything to us. Thanks James.

I'm going to say something that took me a long time to admit.
My fiancée could run this business better than me.

And before she screenshots this and uses it against me for the next 20 years...let me explain.

I'm good at the tree stuff. I know how to look at a tree and tell you exactly what it needs, how long it'll take, and what it's going to cost. I can run a crew, operate equipment, and handle a job site.

That part I've got.

But Mary?

Mary can run a chainsaw just as well as I can.

She can take down an entire tree start to finish without breaking a sweat.

And somehow she also remembers every customer's name. Every single one. She sends the follow up texts. She notices when a review comes in and makes sure we respond to it. She keeps track of the stuff I'd absolutely forget.

She also has better instincts about this business than I do half the time. She's usually right. I've just learned to say that faster now.

Running a small business is two jobs at once. The actual work and everything around the actual work.

Most guys have to choose one.

Mary does both.

So if you've ever called us and felt like someone actually cared about getting back to you there's a good chance Mary had something to do with that.

And if you ever show up to a job site and see a woman taking down a tree with a chainsaw bigger than she is that's just a Tuesday for us.

This business has her fingerprints all over it.

Every single part of it.

P.S. She just read this and said "it's about time." 🤣

We got a call recently from Mike about a tree situation at his family's cabin up in Island Park.

The property has been in their family since the 1930s.

Beautiful place.

They had just finished remodeling the cabin when they noticed a 60 foot tree leaning right over the side of it.

Not exactly what you want to see after you just got done fixing the place up.

Mike was worried we might drop something on the cabin during the removal.

Don't worry...We didn't.

We also got out there quickly, gave them a price they could afford, and had the whole thing taken care of same day.

But here's my favorite part of this job.

Mike's mom came with him.

Her eyes aren't great so she held my arm while we walked around the property together.

She watched the whole thing from start to finish.

When it was all done she turned to her son, pointed at Mary, and said:

"She did that."

I don't know if I've ever felt more proud in my life.

That moment right there is why we do this.

If you've got a tree situation in Idaho Falls or the surrounding area, we'd love to earn your trust.

P.S. Mike's mom was an absolute sweetheart. The kind of person that makes you feel good about your work before you've even started. We definitely won't forget her.
