Why replace all your flooring when you can restore some of it? At this neurology clinic, we helped the University of Rochester preserve budget by replacing flooring in high-traffic, high-visibility areas while our maintenance team restored patient room flooring to extend its useful life.

The result: updated common spaces, reduced replacement costs, and less disruption in active care areas.

Materials included Roppe Corporation solid rubber, Interface Woodgrains LVT, and Patcraft carpet tile throughout the lobby and common areas.

Last week, our CEO Abby Reinhard participated in the Carpet America Recovery Effort (CARE) Conference and Board Meeting in Chattanooga, TN — an important forum for advancing progress in carpet recycling and circularity.

A standout session was the “Design for Circularity” panel, which highlighted how manufacturers and designers are increasingly aligned around extending product life, improving recyclability, and building systems that can scale.

As New York prepares to mandate carpet recycling beginning in 2027, these conversations are more important than ever. It’s encouraging to see the industry moving in the right direction and coming together around practical solutions.

We’re proud to have Abby helping to move these efforts forward as a board member of CARE. She’s the only flooring contractor on this national board, representing an important voice in the dialogue about carpet recycling.

The annual conference was a strong reminder that momentum is building, and that real progress happens when the industry works together.

We love leading job‑site tours for YouthBuild Rochester, helping inspire the next generation of construction professionals through hands‑on exposure to the industry. We recently welcomed participants from the Urban League of Rochester’s YouthBuild program to the Churchview Commons two‑story, 45‑unit affordable housing project for a firsthand look at an active construction site. In partnership with Home Leasing and Haynes Construction Company, the project’s GC, we hosted a site tour and informational session.

Experiences like this allow participants to see how trades collaborate, gain practical insight, and explore the many career paths available within construction.

🏆 Sophisticated design, lasting performance, and a budget that works harder! GP Flooring is proud to have received the Fuse Spark Award for “Most Maximized Budget” for our work on the Center City Courtyard project.

Through a strategic combination of LVT, Kinetex, ceramic tile, and polished concrete, the team created a sophisticated flooring design that balanced durability, sound mitigation, and cost efficiency. By pairing standard LVT with acoustically backed LVT in targeted areas, the project prioritized investment where it delivered the greatest functional return—resulting in durable, visually compelling spaces without sacrificing style.
