Last week, Mitchell Surveying and Mapping LLC utilized our aerial surveying capabilities to collect engineering data for a road project leading into a new development and industrial area in Macon County, Alabama.

Aerial surveying gives us another efficient way to collect detailed information over larger project areas while reducing the amount of time our crews need to spend working directly along active roadways and in difficult to access areas.

By combining aerial data collection with our traditional surveying methods, we can provide our engineering and development clients with efficient, accurate, and comprehensive data to support their projects.

We’re excited to put some new equipment to work this week!

Mitchell Surveying and Mapping LLC has added a new Carlson Viking GNSS receiver and Washington data collector to our equipment lineup. The new system gives us another powerful tool to help us work efficiently and continue providing accurate, dependable surveying services to our clients.

The Carlson Washington data collector is also the first of its kind in the state of Alabama, which makes this a pretty exciting addition for our company.

We’re always looking for ways to improve our equipment, technology, and workflow so we can better serve our clients in the field.

"My neighbor just showed me his new hunting app… and according to it, my house was on his property.”

So how accurate are those apps?

Most hunting apps pull their property lines from county tax maps. Those maps are helpful for general reference, but they aren’t survey-grade and can be off by several feet (or more).

The only way to truly know where a property line falls is with a professional survey.
