This house came out great. All new carpet, paint, new shower, and deep clean before going on the market.

Finished this up about a week ago. Installed OC onyx black on the house and garage, with new gutters. Did a little face lift on the steps.

No tips today. No myths, no stats. Just the river.

This valley is why we do the work the way we do it. You don't cut corners on your neighbors' houses when you're going to run into them at the store, at the game, on the water. Every roof we touch is a roof we'll drive past for the rest of our lives — and we like it that way.

Thanks for following along these sixty days. We'll be here — same valley, same phone number — whenever your place needs looking after.

Sixty days ago we started posting with one rule: be useful, or be quiet.

Since then it's been moss and metal, valleys and ventilation, fir needles and flashing — the actual stuff that decides whether an Umpqua Valley roof makes it through winter. No hype, no scare tactics, no "limited time offers." Just what we'd tell a neighbor over the fence, because that's who you are.

The posts continue. The phone stays on. And when the rain starts drumming this fall, we hope yours is just a nice sound.

Sleep better when it rains. (541) 670-5005.

The membership pitch you'd expect ends with a 24-month commitment and a cancellation fee buried on page four. Ours doesn't, because a maintenance plan should survive on usefulness, not paperwork.

Month to month. Cancel anytime. Everything included is confirmed with you at sign-up so there's nothing to discover later. We'd rather earn year six the same way we earned month one — by catching the small stuff before it gets expensive and showing you photos to prove it.

Questions about how it works? Call or text (541) 670-5005.

Sixty days of posts about moss, valleys, flashing, and fir needles all point at one boring conclusion: this climate rewards whoever's watching.

The Home Care Membership is us doing the watching. Inspections timed before the rainy season, debris checks after storms, a photo report every visit so you see exactly what we see, and emergency tarping included when the weather wins one anyway.

Around 130 rainy days a year will find whatever nobody's looking at. From $49/month, we look.

This is what a roof looks like the day before it looks like anything.

Underlayment is the waterproof layer between the deck and the finished roof — the part that never shows up in the after photo but decides how the roof handles the water that inevitably sneaks past the surface someday. On this job, everything papered in tight before the metal went down.

We photograph this stage on every project, because you deserve proof of the parts you'll never see again.

Your roof drains into your gutters, which protect your fascia, which sits over your siding, which meets your deck. It's all one water-management system wearing five different names.

Which is why juggling five contractors for one exterior gets expensive in ways no single bid shows — mismatched schedules, gaps between trades, and nobody owning the seams where projects meet. As a general contractor, we fold roof work, gutters, decks, fences, and siding under one schedule and one point of accountability.

Got a list of exterior projects? Bring the whole list. (541) 670-5005.

Here's the arithmetic nobody puts on the brochure.

A treed lot here needs its gutters cleared at least twice a year — usually more if firs hang over the roofline. Quality guards cut that to an occasional light brush-off, which means they typically recoup their cost in roughly three to six years of skipped cleanings.

The harder number to price: one clog you don't get in November is an overflow you don't have in January — the kind that rots fascia or floods a crawlspace. One prevented disaster can cover the guards outright.

Most gutter guards were designed for places with leaves. Douglas County has Douglas firs — and fir needles slide through screens, mat on foam, and defeat half the products on the market.

So here's the whole honest hierarchy: micro-mesh wins, screens are a half-measure under evergreens, and foam inserts actively make things worse. We also prep first — cleaning, re-sloping, and repairing gutters before guards go on, fastened without touching your roof's first shingle course.

Tired of the November ladder ritual? Let's talk guards that actually work here: (541) 670-5005.
