I've spent a lot of time thinking about the judge's comment from my last video.

But here's what I keep coming back to.
In both paintings, the woman's mouth is covered with gold.
The titles include the word "Silence."
The women stare out at the viewer.
So I have to ask: what part of the message was unclear?

For a long time, I thought staying quiet and making everyone else happy was the only way to be safe. I started making art to find my own voice.

Here's another recent sketch for my Travel Tuesday post from the bustling streets of Tokyo to the serenity of Hie-Jinja Shrine. I loved sketching the little dragon fountain—it felt like discovering a secret world in the heart of the city. 🐉❤️
