Remember anything you poison is apt to also poisoning unintended targets. Ants are eaten by horned lizards, aphids are eaten by numerous animals and beneficial insects, and rodents are eaten by many raptors including owls. From the Center for Biological Diversity: Rodenticides have received recent attention since the news that Flaco, beloved owl of NYC’s Central Park, died with high levels of rat poison in his system.

Rodenticides, pose a serious risk to public health and the environment. These are toxic products that cause severe health damage and even death in nontarget wildlife, pets and people.

I’m really happy with how this tiny yard transformation came out. The owners are thrilled with their new space. Can’t wait to see it when the plants come in.

This smallish back yard includes a pergola with kitchen, a sun patio, water fountain and pathways. A rich plant palette will make this a lush landscape in a year or two.
