PROLONGED MARCH WARMTH: An anomalously strong high pressure system will bring warm weather later this week and potentially record breaking heat next week to the entire Desert Southwest.
There’s a slight chance SLC hits 70° today, but a better chance later in the week. We'll most likely see our first 70s along the Wasatch and first 80s in St. George late week.
Next week we could see record warmth, 90s in St. George and an 80 degree can't be ruled out in Salt Lake City. This will rapidly melt snowpack and I could see some ski resorts having to close terrain and maybe even in extreme cases close all together for some locations in the Western U.S.
