Well, today was a great day. Not my first experience with dog p**p; it happened a few times when I had pets. To top this off, Hutsons in Portland called, knowing my tractor was going to be an expensive fix. I told Don that I heard he had good news for me, and the repair was covered under warranty, a slight chuckle. Don then asked if I was sitting down. "Yes, I'm driving," I replied. "The cost to fix your tractor will be $4,700." I told Don that he could skip replacing the seat and the new air cleaner container. To fix the broken drive shaft, they need to pull the engine, drop the transmission, and install the new shaft. The cost for this is $3,800. I'm praying nothing else is wrong with it.
With respect to one of my customers, this young family is going through a tough time. I spoke with the husband and asked how his wife was doing. He said he wished he could say better, but she just came home from a three-week stay at the hospital due to her cancer. I told him they are in my thoughts and prayers. Putting my day and hardships into perspective, my issues are nothing compared to what this family is going through.
