A tip for everyone that has a heat pump system. Freezing rain is in the forecast. Freezing rain can accumulate on the fan blades and could cause damage to the heat pump. So if you are capable, turn your heat pump to emergency/auxiliary heat to prevent damage during the freezing rain.

So if you are capable, turn your heat pump to emergency/auxiliary heat to prevent damage during the freezing rain.

We would also like to remind everyone with heat pumps that the ice we received last night can throw the fan blade out of balance and cause damage. You can turn your heat on auxiliary/emergency until the ice has a chance to melt.
