This is Matt's wife, Kelly, writing this post.

For those of you who have supported MSC Handcrafted Woodworks over the past few years, I have some heartbreaking news to share. Matt passed away unexpectedly June 18.

Many of you came to know Matt through meeting us at the craft shows we attended, commissioning custom woodworking projects, and the conversations that always seemed to happen around our booth. While his talent with wood was what first caught people's attention, it was his kindness, his sense of humor, and his willingness to spend time talking with everyone who stopped by that left the most lasting of impressions.

MSC Handcrafted Woodworks was something we built together, and the support you've shown us over the years has meant more than you'll ever know. Thank you for believing in Matt's craftsmanship and for allowing us to be part of your homes and your lives.

Thank you for keeping our family in your thoughts during this incredibly difficult time.

We will be hosting a Celebration of Life for Matt on July 18, 2026 and have an RSVP form to follow.

We’re all set up for the Strawberry Festival in Lewes today. It’s a beautiful day for strawberries, supporting a local fire department and shopping local! We hope to see you here

It’s 2nd Sunday so that means today is Mead, Merchants &Music from 12 to 5 At the Brimming Horn Meadery in Milton, Delaware. We love setting up here with all the other amazing vendors. We hope to see a lot of new and familiar faces today.

It’s Mother’s Day weekend and we’re at Sun Outdoors Rehoboth Bay to hang out with the campers today and Brimming Horn Meadery tomorrow.

Largest end grain board so far, 15”x27”x2”. Big enough for a whole brisket or a couple tomahawk steaks. Made from mahogany, hard maple, walnut, and cherry. Flattening and sanding tomorrow. Will post finished pictures in a few days.

Just got to deliver these cutting boards. Crx is going to laser etch their company logo on them and oil them to give to their customers. They build beautiful homes and it was awesome that they thought to call me to make boards for them.
