If your greenhouse plants are flowering but not fruiting, it’s time to try hand pollination. Greenhouses can sometimes block the wind and insects needed for natural fertilization, but you can easily step in to save your harvest.
The Essentials:
🐝 Why do it? It guarantees fruit production for "isolated" plants and lets you experiment with custom cross-breeding.
🐝 Best candidates: Squash, cucumbers, melons, and tomatoes.
🐝 How to start: Use a small paintbrush or cotton swab to move pollen from the male flower to the female flower. For tomatoes, a simple gentle shake of the stem is often enough!
A few minutes of work can significantly increase your yield and ensure no blossom goes to waste.
