Presleys Landscape Boerne TX,
Question of the day,
How do I keep my plants, trees and grass growing during this heat with limited watering days.
One of the best ways to keep moisture for your plants and trees is to make sure you have fresh mulch. Also, water all plants and trees early in the morning before sun comes up. Why? Because at the end of the day in the evening, even though the sun may have gone down, the plants and ground are still warm and need the full night to cool off so less will evaporate. Also, watering in the early morning will allow the plants and trees to retain the moisture much better throughout the day. Keep bushes trimmed and remove suckers from the bottom of trees.
Now, grass, that’s a whole new animal.
Never water grass during the day or evening. The moisture will evaporate much faster and if it’s hot, the grass can actually burn, creating brown spots.
Watering very early in the morning will always allow for the moisture to sink in. Watering in the heat , will just evaporate and moisture won’t sink into soil as well as early morning watering.
Also, have someone check your sprinklers to make sure your getting the best coverage. If you need any help with mulching, checking out sprinklers, trimming or any other landscaping needs, please let us know. Check out our page, linked from about.
Have a blessed day and love you all. 210-473-9466
