5 tips to remember while cooking, to avoid an extra expense this holiday season!

1. Throw leftovers in the trash or compost pile - not everything shouldn’t go down the drain!

2. Feed things slowly in the drain to prevent overloading the garbage disposal.

3. Wipe off greasy pans before washing them. You’ll save yourself a clogged drain or two.

4. Don’t use the dishwasher if you think you have a problem with the disposal. It empties out into the disposal.

5. Don’t put turkey bones, skin, potatoes skins, or onion peels down the disposal. Oil, grease and fats can stick to the pipes which can cause them to clog.

So make sure all kids:

Walk on sidewalks on lit streets (never through alleys or across lawns)walk from house to house (never run) and always walk facing traffic when walking on roads cross the street at crosswalks and never assume that vehicles will stop.

Give kids flashlights with fresh batteries. Kids may also enjoy wearing glow sticks as bracelets or necklaces.

Limit trick-or-treating to your neighborhood and the homes of people you know.

Sometimes what seems like a simple fix is definitely a job for a professional. This older home had parts that were not made for this sink, that had been previously installed by someone else. This Home Depot fix cost the home owner time and money. While it was a simple fix, it did require specialty parts... another happy customer.
