Not my usual fare but a great and rewarding project. We've been invited Saturday night for trick or treating and the inaugural use of the new fire pit. The pad diameter is 16'. The exterior of the pit is 5' in diameter, and the interior of the pit is 3' in diameter. Pictures of it in use to come soon.

After having to part ways with their previous contractor, leaving a dream of a remodeled bathroom unfinished, I was called in to pick up the pieces and make things right.

My customer provided these pictures showing the bathroom's state pre OddJob Contracting.

Live edge bar tops? Yeah, I can do that. Stay tuned for the exciting conclusion.

Finishing up a great kitchen counter top upgrade. The house was originally furnished with a pink granite-like Silestone with full bullnose. It may have been all the rage back in the day, but the new homeowners wanted something "real."

What you see here is Neptune Bordeaux. The sink is a beautiful half saddle Kohler in Biscuit color. The faucet is by Moen. The cabinetry and tilework was carefully preserved during demo and new installation.

This stone is also used in the master bath and utility rooms. Those pictures to come in the next few days.

Is it time to freshen up your counter tops? If yes, I can help!

I love it when customers give me projects like this.

The original stairs were covered in a brown carpet. The carpet's purpose (other than being an inexpensive covering solution) was to hide the flaws in the framing.

I corrected the framing to accept the Red Oak stained oak treads, followed by setting these beautiful 6x6 hand painted, three dimensional, high gloss glazed tiles. There are 13 patterns, no duplication among stair risers.

The skirtboards were originally polyurethane coated to match the wall panels. I painted them with white uerethane paint to brighten the stairway and make the colors in the tiles pop.

Finally, I refinished the handrail to match the treads.

One of the things that keeps me interested in the work I do, is that I am constantly learning new stuff. Sometimes I may learn a better method. Other times it may pertain to new product to the building and remodeling industry. And other times, it just a new-to-me product or service.

I recently had the opportunity to rehabilitate an aging laminate counter top. I transformed it from a tired, stained, chipped and scratched surface to a surface that everyone who has seen it, has also had to touch it. The texture is very much like unhoned granite.

A few years ago, Dave and our son Aaron built their biggest block tower EVER. It was a feat of engineering and craftsmanship worthy of recognition. The blocks were handmade by Dave's dad, Eldon—the master woodworker who taught Dave everything he knows.

Dave and Aaron built their biggest block tower ever. The craftsmanship and engineering were exquisite.
