My customer ripped all of her hydrangeas out and wanted some help with the new install, this is the design that we came up with and this was the final result she was super excited and very happy with everything. I think being able to be a part of the process and learning as much as she did was her favorite part she was super eager to learn and I was very happy to teach her.

When people think about bees, they usually think about honeybees. Texas is actually home to more than 700 native bee species, and many depend on native plants for food and habitat.

These are a few beautiful Texas natives that support pollinators while adding color and character to the landscape. Creating a sustainable yard doesn't mean sacrificing beauty—it means choosing plants that belong here.

When most people think about helping monarch butterflies, they immediately reach for Tropical Milkweed. While it's beautiful, it isn't always the best choice for monarchs in Texas.
Native milkweeds like Antelope Horns, Green Milkweed, and Zizotes Milkweed evolved alongside monarch butterflies and provide the habitat they naturally depend on. Sometimes supporting pollinators isn't about planting more—it's about planting the right plants.

One of the biggest misconceptions in landscaping is that bigger plants are always the better choice.
In many cases, smaller plants establish faster and adapt better to their new environment. To help reduce transplant shock, I often use a product called Superthrive during installation. Combined with proper watering and planting techniques, it can help new plants get off to a strong start.
A successful landscape isn't about having the biggest plants on day one—it's about choosing plants that will thrive for years to come.

When most people think of native plants, they picture the same few options over and over. Texas has so much more to offer.
These are a few of my favorite natives because they bring something unique to the landscape while thriving in our climate. A great landscape isn't just about what looks good today—it's about choosing plants that will still be thriving years from now.

A lot of homeowners wait until their lawn turns brown before they start watering more, but by then the grass has already been stressed for a while.
One of the easiest ways to tell if your lawn needs water is to walk across it. If your footprints stay visible instead of springing back, that's usually a sign it's time for a deep watering. You may also notice the grass looking dull or the blades starting to curl. Paying attention to these early warning signs can help keep your lawn healthy all summer long.
