Lots of concrete cutting, jackhammer, and digging to expose deteriorating cast iron. Replaced as much as possible without demolition in the adjacent bathroom. This will drain much better now.

Sometimes I just have to vent. The subject is Tankless Water Heaters. The engineers who designed the tankless technology gave us a great gift. Cleaner water. Endless hot water. Energy saving. Space saving. Flood control. And every year the technology improves.
Vent time. But here in California the new Title 24 Blue Print Specifies that EVERY new house will require a heat pump water heater. Why? It’s a money grab compliments of Governor Newsome and his Business Associates. Are the solar rip offs involved? You bet. The heat pump water heater would be a great way to save some money with solar. Oh wait….. I forgot that SDG&E is now ending the “Buy Back” part of the solar deal that was originally promised by the solar companies. Will the heat pump water heaters still save you some money on a sunny day? Yes but it’s not quite as sweet as it should be. You are still showering in tank water that gets contaminated with rust and lime and other toxins after a few years. You are also storing huge amounts of water therefore at risk of flooding when that tank finally goes. You do run out of hot water after the wife and kids and dishwasher are done. It’s also definitely not a space saver. Actually bigger that most tank water heaters.
I have built this company on giving customers the BEST for their buck and I am really not happy with this money grab. Will I ever get over this? LOL Those who know me…….know.

It’s amazing to me how tank water heaters have gone downhill. I pulled out this 37 year old water heater yesterday. The owner said that he had never flushed it out. There was no water filter on this house, so it was taking hard Southern California water for 37 years. These days if you buy a 5 year warranty tank heater, it leaks at 5 years and 1 day😳

This Moen shower assembly is a nice add on. Sprayer is sold separately, but what a genius design! You can now have a slide bar and hand sprayer added to your standard shower neck.
