This Magnolia “little gem” Is approaching there years since planting. Magnolias prefer full sunlight, this magnolia is partially shaded so it has adapted to the partial shade with much larger leaf size to capture as much sunlight as possible. In the pics are it’s normal smaller size leaves as well as much larger new foliage. Just love trees!

The magnificent sequoia sempervirens, know a the coastal redwood. There only remain 5% of the original old growth forest the rest was logged off. I had to visit these old growth redwoods at Jedediah Smith state and federal park near at crescent city, northern cal.
