Important Update on HVAC & Refrigeration Equipment Costs
The U.S. is imposing a 50% tariff on copper and an additional 30% tariff on imports from Mexico and the EU, all taking effect August 1st. These measures are expected to cause significant cost increases across the HVAC and commercial refrigeration industries.
Many leading American HVAC and refrigeration brands manufacture equipment in Mexico, including:
HVAC brands: Carrier, Trane, Lennox, Daikin, Goodman, York, Rheem, Ruud
Refrigeration brands: True, Beverage-Air, Delfield, Turbo Air, Traulsen
Compressor brands: Copeland (by Emerson), Tecumseh
As a result, the combined effect of these tariffs could lead to equipment cost increases of up to 80% for many systems.
